Publisher's Summary

Racer McKay is a broody bastard.

From the moment I met him, he's been rude, irritable, and unbearable. And worse? He's broke.

A contractor working to remodel my parents pool house for extra cash, he stomps around in those clunky construction boots with his tool belt wrapped around his narrow waist, and a chip on his shoulder.

Racer McKay is also infuriatingly...sexy as hell. I want to take that pencil tucked behind his ear, and draw lazy lines slowly up and down his body all the while wanting to strangle him at the same time. We try to stay out of each other's way...that is, until I have no other option but to ask for his help. But what I don't realize is he needs me just as much as I need him. I have money he's desperate for, and he holds the key to making my dreams come true.

Our pranks turn from sarcastic banter, to sexual tension and lust-filled glances. Bickering matches quickly morph into slow burn moments. We're hot, we're cold. We push and pull. I need him, I don't want him.

We're on the verge of combusting with an agreement dangling dangerously between us. Neither one of us can afford to lose one another and yet, we're finding it quite hard to decipher the line that rests between love and hate.

Contains mature themes.

The narrators for this author are not great

Unfortunately the choices in male narrators this far have been poor.

Racer was nerdy, douchey sounding with a squeaky pain in the rear voice

I liked the story but struggled when he spoke

Adorable.

This story is sweet and adorable. The characters dynamic is entertaining.
I wasn’t a fan of Racer’s voice when he was talking. The regular voice of the narrator was great, but then he put on this nasally voice for Racer and it was just weird.
Overall the story, and performance were great and I really enjoyed it.

Worst male love interest voice.

It’s a story with spice but the voice that the male narrator uses for this supposed rugged man makes me cringe. Instead of sounding rugged or manly, it sounds whiny, more fitting for a cartoon rat that’s evil.

Enjoyable

Predictable but still enjoyable read/ listen. It was entertaining especially the dynamic with the principal characters and The built up to a few steamy moments.

The thing I found annoying and distracted me a bit to keep listening is Rudy’s voice for the main character Racer. When he narrated it was fine but when he was speaking for Racer, the tone did not match the personality of the character. I think Rudy should keep is normal voice for Racer. Because of that, I think reading the book would have been more enjoyable, at least for me.

Great story

The story was great but the male narrator used a different voice not his and it was horrible and his real voice was great to bad.

I really liked the book

The male narrator made the male lead’s voice horrible. Terrible. He has a nice enough voice, I don’t know why he sounded like squeaky brat doing his character. Uugh. Other then that enjoyable listen.
