À propos de cet audio

A witty and deeply romantic modern reimagining of Disney’s Tangled, by the New York Times best-selling author duo Christina Lauren, part of the acclaimed and best-selling Meant to Be collection.

She has a dream. He has a plan. Together they’ll take a leap of faith.

Ren has never held an iPhone, googled the answer to a question, or followed a crush on social media. What she has done: read a book or two, or three (okay, hundreds). Taught herself to paint. Built a working wind-power system from scratch. But for all the books she’s read, Ren has never found one that’s taught a woman raised on a homestead and off the grid for most of her 22 years how to live in the real world. So when she finally achieves her lifelong dream of attending Corona College, it feels like her life is finally beginning.

Fitz has the rest of his life mapped out: Graduate from Corona at the top of his class, get his criminal record wiped clean, and pass himself off as the rich, handsome player everyone thinks he is. He’s a few short months from checking off step one of his plans when Ren Gylden, with her cascading blonde hair and encyclopedic brain, crashes into his life, and for the first time Fitz’s plan is in jeopardy.

But a simple assignment in their immunology seminar changes the course of both their lives, and suddenly they’re thrown out of the frying pan and into the fire—on a road trip that will lead them in the most unexpected directions. Out on the open road, the world somehow shifts, and the unlikely pair realizes that, maybe, the key to the dreams they've both been chasing have been sitting next to them the whole time.

When I heard that Christina Lauren had written a modern retelling of Tangled, and that Disney was involved, I knew I needed to read it. This book has everything you loved in Tangled but modernized. It has a sheltered female main character, and a bad boy male main character. It has a road trip. It has a trusty steed… I mean car…that is its own character. It has a sketchy bar full of rough looking bikers. It has the evil mother character. It has blackmail and it has suspense. It even has mention of a cast iron skillet.

At the heart of this retelling is the delightful chemistry between Ren and Fitz. I adored their journey. I enjoyed that often times on their journey there was only one bed and that only sometimes did someone sleep on the floor. This book is a slow burn, low spice romance, and instead of an epilogue it has a quick one sentence wrap up that was actually everything I wanted, and is just like the last line of Tangled.

Modern Tangled retelling, fantastic narration!

I absolutely LOVED this! There is literally nothing else I could have asked for from a Tangled/Rapunzel retelling.

Ren has lived a very sheltered life and has finally convinced her parents to let her leave their secluded farm to go to college under a very strict set of rules. This is where she meets a Fitz and has been warned away from his charming ways.

During school, Ren completes a DNA test for one of her classes, only to discover something she wasn't expecting. During spring break, Fitz is traveling to Nashville and Ren hitches a ride with him for the road trip as she sets out on a secret adventure to find some answers.

As Ren and Fitz develop a close bond while they share hotel rooms and experiences along the road trip, things don't go as expected. The suspense delivered made for an exciting turn of events and ending to this well rounded story of self discovery and growth.

LOVED THIS

I liked this book a lot more than I thought I would. the mystery of Ren and Fitz was more than I expected. The ending had me in shock and pulled on my heart strings. The narrators were well suited for the character I felt. would definitely recommend.

This was such a cute read! Tangled is one of my fave Disney movies and Christina Lauren is an auto-buy writing duo so I had high expectations. And they delivered!

Tangled Up In You was true to the original story and was adapted well to a modern setting. I thought bringing Ren to a college campus after living a remote, home-schooled life was a unique approach. She had all the naïveté of Rapunzel and I loved her wholesome curiosity.

Fitz was a spot-on recreation of Flynn Ryder - complete with his signature smolder and swagger. So swoony!

The narrators were both fantastic and exactly how I pictured Ren and Fitz sounding.

Overall, this was a great read and I will look for future adaptions in the Meant to Be series.

An adorable take on a Disney classic!

This is a tangled retelling, and I thought it was perfection. Also, if you’ve watched the movie, this does not stray very far from that story. I think Ren was so cute and sweet, she is pure sunshine. When she finally convinces her parents to let her attend college, she has strict rules. When she shows up for her college tour, she meets Fitz, who’s known as a player and Ren’s roommate warns her to stay away.

After both Ren and Fitz find themselves in a precarious situation, they embark on a road trip together. They both have different reasons for being on this journey, and every time they stop for the night, they learn more about each other. Fitz really helps Ren learn about the things she’s never done before, she doesn’t have a lot of real-world experiences. I really liked their relationship and chemistry throughout this book.

Perfection!
