À propos de cet audio
Brew the beer and light the Hearth. No ifs, plenty of butts.
I’d been looking for a way to leave my old life behind, so inheriting a battered old pub in the middle of nowhere was the perfect excuse. Flying in from America, I was keen for a chance to get my head down, lick my wounds and figure out my next steps.
It turned out, though, there’s all sorts of unusual expectations of the landlord in the village of Pant-y-Giggles. From renovating the building, to learning how to brew, to embracing the Way of the Hollows, I very quickly had my hands full.
Fortunately, though, everyone was very keen to help me settle in.
Especially as the only guy in the village…
©2026 Cassius Lange (P)2026 Cassius Lange, Bram KingsleyI enjoyed this book a lot, more than I expected even.
It purports to be a slice-of-life haremlit modern fantasy and if that is what you want (I did!), than good news it does exactly what it says on the tin. I particularly liked how the author was invested in some important logistical elements to make their world more tangible, I am not an expert on Welsh expressions, brewing or electrical maintenance, but I believed that the characters in the story were based on how effusively they described their hobbies and passions. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and am looking forward to the rest of the series.
I think I heard some minor continuity breaks in the last chapter and I somewhat wish that the the female narrator had distinctly Welsh accents to use, but these are very minor issues.
A fun slice-of-life, haremlit modern fantasy
