Publisher's Summary
A Wall Street Journal bestseller
All Detective Mason Callahan wanted was a quiet fishing trip with the guys - a chance to get away and unwind before Halloween.
Until he finds the body of his boss, Denny Schefte, near their remote Oregon cabin. Now all he wants is to catch the sadist who slit Denny’s throat and covered his face with a mask. Mason was the last person to see him alive and will stop at nothing to find his friend’s murderer.
When the FBI learns of the mask left at the scene, they realize they have a serial killer on their hands - one who is targeting cops. They assign the case to Special Agent Ava McLane, despite her engagement to Mason. Barely recovered from her own nearly fatal injury and her sister’s attempted suicide, Ava hopes she is ready to chase another killer.
But as she delves into the increasingly disturbing case, the killer may be closer than expected - dangerously close.

Excellent chick lit!
The story of Oregon state police detective Mason Callahan and FBI special agent Ava MeLane continues in Targeted, Book 4 in the series. Kendra Elliot tells a good story. Narration continues to be a strong point of this series.

Enjoyable book.
Would you listen to Targeted again? Why?
Yes, it was worth reading. If I ran out of audible books I would probably listen again because I like listening to books because it gives me freedom to do other things while enjoying a book.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The main female character. She was portrayed as a strong woman with some weak parts of her personality.
Which scene was your favorite?
When the murderer was finally brought to justice.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When we found out the fate of the murderer's mother.
Any additional comments?
I have been hearing so many awful narrators that it was a pleasure to hear both the male and female narrators doing a good job making the character they were speaking for sound real. The character development was good. I was able to form a mind's eye picture of the four most prominent characters.

Edge of my seat!!
Fabulous novel - just what I have come to expect from Kendra Elliot, whom became one of my top 1 favorite suspense novelist after I read her first novel. Out of this series, Callahan and McLane, I was so excited to finally see the long awaited (at least for me) Book 4, Targeted. The characters, across the series have developed such depth. I don't want to give away any of the plot, so let me just say, read it - you will not be sorry and Amy McFadden and Alexander Cendese are captivating narrators who reach out and grab you from page one.

time to let the series go
this series has never been as good as the bones series but I hung in there because I like the way Kendra writes. unfortunately I knew who the killer was from the first meeting. I don't like that. I like to be left guessing until the very end. I don't feel like she put creative effort into the writing. I had to start over about 6 times because the beginning is so slow that you loose interest.

Suspense at the end
I have not read the previous books, but Targeted held my interest throughout the book and I will try the earlier books in the series. Unfortunately the suspense did not begin until the last few chapters.

Another great book for Kendra Elliot
Fast paced suspense thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat through the entire book. Amy McFadden and Alexander Cendese did a wonderful performance with the narration. Can't wait for the next book in this series!

Terrific read/listen..
I have no idea why Ms. Elliot doesn’t just kill Jayne off. She’s in every book and she lives to make Ava’s life a living hell. There will never be anything that can redeem the stupid girl and nothing that can ever make her likable. If a book were ever written where Jayne came around to being a decent person I would never read it, that’s how much I hate her. I’m at 50% of the book and I get irritated just hearing her name mentioned. I hope by the end of the book she’s dead.
I just love Ava and Mason, well, except in that last book. It just went on and on about Jayne being a b*tch and Ava spent the whole book stressing over her twin. This one is much better, inasmuch as Ava doesn’t have anything to do with Jayne, except for paying for the ungrateful witch to be in a high-class drug rehabilitation facility. And by the end of the book Jayne was about 3000 miles away, in Costa Rica. I was happy about the. AND I was surprised at who David turned out to be.
Actually, this was a really, really good book. I knew that the one kid who said he’d killed the cops didn’t BUT I couldn’t figure out how he knew what he knew if he didn’t do it. It did kind of leave you hangin’ for a while, until you figured out who the bad guy was.
Again, another book by Ms. Elliot where I did not skim one single page. I was saddened to hear Zander’s story about his wife. I liked the other characters, Duff, Steve, Ray, and Denny from the other books but who was murdered in this book, Nora was a great addition and it was nice seeing Euzent again.
So, no sex, one single little kiss in front of others, some swearing and the F-bomb was dropped 27 times.
As to the narration: FABULOUS! Great male and female narrators doing the male and female voices makes the book really worth listening to. Amy McFadden and Alexander Cendese were both just awesome.
