Publisher's Summary

Jane Lonsdale had been dismissed from her position at Miss Prism’s Academy because the music master had tried to kiss her. Jane went to her aunt, having no idea that the housekeeper had married Lord Pargeter, who promptly died. Neighbors at nearby Swann Hall were suspicious about the will, and Lord Fenwick, a visitor, decided to investigate. Though Jane’s past hinted of scandal, Fenwick was intrigued.

Sweet little story

A light happy simple Regency romance (clean). A little like Georgette Heyer if you’re not looking for perfection.

Short, sweet, fun story with minimal conflicts and likeable characters

This is a great listen if you have a few hours and want to just listen to something short, sweet, fun, with nice characters, no villains or drama, and a pretty simple story. I love Joan Smith for the likeable characters and clever writing. I have fun with her stories. They are very Georgette Heyeresque in feeling, but simpler and shorter. I have read dozens of them but this is the only audio book I’ve found and wish there were more. They are perfect when you just want to have fun and not have to think to hard. I ended with a smile… satisfied with where all the characters ended up.
