Publisher's Summary
Dr. Peikoff makes a compelling case for a rational system of education by contrasting three approaches to philosophy and the different educational alternatives they propose to replace our present system. He translates the usual abstract discussions in this field into material easily comprehensible to the listener. In the process, he defines a proper methodology and curriculum that will produce thinking high school graduates confident of their ability to achieve their goals.

teachers must read
Whether you agree with him or not, you better have a damn good reason. Fighting objectivism is like fighting rationality itself.
I do cringe at a few lingering conservatist views about a teen's ability to trust their curiosity and take responsibility for the route their education takes, though I accept Piekoff's warning on whim worship.
His team leaves no room for doubt about the teacher's role and responsibilities and they offer an easy to use method for lesson planning and lecturing, so for that alone, it's a must-read.
