Surprisingly Meh
The performance is really good and the story is structure super interesting; all the pieces are there to make this novel captivating as hell, but it's just kinda meh. I think it's because the plot or hook is good but the story itself falls flat, and the character development is a bit rushed. Also the ending is predictable and anticlimactic. I wouldn't not recommend the book but also wouldn't go out of my way to suggest it.

interesting episodic structure, good listen
I really enjoyed the temporal shifts in the narrative that were clearly represented in the voice/layout of the chapter.
The plot points were somewhat predictable, but the characters were interesting, and their relationships were not as archetypal as other heterosexual interactions. it was nice not to have to wade through character development that often over explains how 'unique' someone is, instead of letting the story reveal the character in context. Wilson did a good job of focusing on the narrative, allowing for my imagination to explore, which is half the fun of reading!
I figured it would be an easy listen, and it was. happy to leave a good review as I start again from the beginning 🙂

Nothing Special
This book didn’t do it for me. The storyline felt lackluster and a little unrealistic, there was no big wow factor, connection to the characters, especially the main character, wasn’t easy to build. I found her mildly insufferable and the narrator was quite overdramatized for my liking.
