Publisher's Summary
Lambda Literary Award finalist for lesbian romance.
Love or money? Follow the head or heart? Pia and Cate seem to be flip sides of a coin. But when they meet they definitely have that certain something, and these questions aren't so simple after a night like theirs.
Pia Benitez-Smith has her head in the clouds of ideals and romance. She's a photojournalist out to prove herself with her compassionate eye and although not exactly accident prone, most days trouble seems to find her. On one such day, she literally falls into the arms of the beautiful Cate. Elegant, intriguing and classy, Cate is Pia's polar opposite. When the two dispute the importance of love versus money, Cate is adamant that her perfect night will always be an expensive one. Working class Pia can't resist the challenge and with the assistance of a beguiling summer night in London, she begins to enchant her new friend.
An irresistible couple, a charismatic city, a priceless supporting cast - That Certain Something is a sparkling romcom from Goldie award winner Clare Ashton.

Wonderful and funny
I did remember I liked this book very much, but I forgot how funny it was.
I did remember using the book as a reference guide during my first (and only) visit to London, discovering lovely places not in most guide books.
I haven't mentioned yet the very likable characters, wonderful feelings the story awakes in me and the perfect narration. (I was sure I wasn't going like the narrator, but for this book she was perfect.)
Very highly recommended for anyone wanting to be cheered up, anybody liking British romcom and anybody wanting a good time.

Very sweet romance
This story was somehow touching. The romantic elements raised it up for me. Loved both MCs! Sweet and sad and funny and romantic as all get up!
Jessica Jeffries does a great job.

So happy to see this come to audiobook!
I loved this book when I first read it. In fact, I’ve loved everything I’ve read that was written by Clare Ashton. I was so excited to see the novel was brought to audiobook, and that the narrator was one I had listened to before and enjoyed. I really hope Clare Ashton starts bringing more of her insanely wonderful books to audio, because I’d listen to them all. “That Certain Something” in particular was a good choice as an audiobook. The main characters and the secondary characters are all great, and the love story is engaging and just a tad angsty, but not too much so. There is also a great deal of humor that will have your sides splitting. Great listening experience!

It's like high school all over again
Clare Ashton's writing is eloquent, deliberate, and ever flowing. Her wide range of vocabulary was refreshing and I found myself saying, "Well that's a word I haven't heard in forever." Her ability to weave it together was fabulous. It was a nice listen.
Jessica Jeffries is fantastic too, I believe I've listened to her before and this time was a pleasure as well.
The story reads like my high school career. The popular girl is nice to the nerdy kid then the nerdy kid finds out she's actually going out with the quarter back. I felt like I heard half of the story because 90% of the story is told from Pia's perspective. That being said, I felt like this is how to pine 101, not how two people worked out their quirks and were able to over come it.
Over all, it was a fun listen but becomes very very repetitive with how much Pia just pines away for Cate. Like I said, high school all over again lol.

Our got to love this one
a simple story, of girls meets girls after falling from the tree, and the rest you need to listen to.
It is well written, well narrated. Pure enjoyment,
