Publisher's Summary

For the first time ever, hear the bestselling leadership book of all time, read in its entirety by John Maxwell himself!

HarperCollins and John C. Maxwell are celebrating the milestone anniversary of Maxwell’s New York Times bestselling book, The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, with the publication of a revised and updated 25th anniversary edition. This will be the first time Maxwell has read the full unabridged audiobook. Included only on this audio edition are insights from Maxwell on each law and how they have impacted his life as a leader and mentor. There will also be stories from some of today’s most impactful leaders, like entrepreneur and cofounder of IT Cosmetics Jamie Kern Lima, Maxwell Leadership CEO Mark Cole, and author and marketing expert Jeff Henderson, on how they have applied these laws to their own success journeys.

Maxwell has gone through every word of this book and updated it for the next generation of leaders. He has added new insights to these timeless laws and included lessons learned since he originally wrote the book 25 years ago. And he has included some exciting new stories that apply the laws to today’s business world.

What Maxwell didn’t change are the powerful leadership truths that have been helping people become better leaders for the last quarter century. This is still the best book on leadership people can buy, whether they want to learn leadership on their own, develop as leaders in a group, or teach leadership to others as a mentor.

Listeners new to Maxwell, as well as lifelong fans, will enjoy this new edition of the leadership book that has sold millions of copies in the United States and around the world.

Accompanying visuals and an assessment are included in the audiobook companion PDF download.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

One of The Leadership Books That Shaped My Career

Almost 15 years ago, in my early 20s, the 10th Anniversary Edition of this book changed the trajectory of my career as an engineering professional - realising that the key to thriving in the corporate space was combining my technical professional abilities with technical leadership abilities.

Via this book, I realised that leadership forms part of the core of exceptional human and business performance alongside excellence in problem-solving, people development and process improvement.

The book provides insights into 21 principles supported by real-world stories from the lives of various leaders from the past and present.

In almost every other leadership book that I've studied, I've typically noticed that the ideas shared typically align with one or more of the principles from The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership. It makes a solid benchmark to have in leadership philosophy and thinking.

The updates and revisions are good, including a story which I noted related to "The Law of Navigation" in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I'll also share that almost 10 years ago, John Maxwell became one of my mentors as I've grown from a corporate engineering employee into an entrepreneur, consultant and trainer. This book and mentorship from John have been factors in my achievements so far.

Today, I'm continuing to work on practising these principles at every stage of my journey with the evolving leadership needs of building an organisation from the ground up while also sharing these principles with my team and clients alike.

This title became a global best-seller for a reason.

Whether you're in the early stages of your career or an experienced executive, it's a title to have on your shelf for essential reading to frame how you look at leadership challenges and the strengths and weaknesses of those around you.

I'm pleased to collect this 25th Anniversary Audio Edition on its release in May 2022 to add to my signed 10th Anniversary Print Edition. I hope this review helps someone who is thinking about getting this title.

Thanks and congratulations to John Maxwell on the 25th Anniversary of this bestseller!

Very intriguing views.

This book was full of a lot of good advise. If you are truely a good person, than most of this is part of your daily life. A lot of it is common sense and sense of purpose.

This does have a bit of a history lesson to it and refers to religion in some places. Personally I am not a fan of religion and found this out of place and off putting.

The Book That Increased My Military Leadership

I was introduced to the original 21 Laws book while in the army as a military leadership instructor and practitioner. Once I read it, I began incorporating John’s laws into my teachings and leadership.
Because of this book, I had the best students thereafter.
It also prompted me to join his team in 2014!

Thanks John. You’re my hero!

Well worth it!

This was a great purchase. The author narrated, and gave stories outside of the written text. The end provides three real world examples by three separate individuals outside of the author. You won’t be disappointed!

Still the best leadership book ever written

This is the second time I have read this book, but this new edition read by Maxwell himself is worth the reread. Appreciate the bonus speakers at the end of the audiobook as well.
