Just a bit less of the whole vegan thing
Overall, it’s a good story. The French gargoyle is especially adorable. I just wished the author would not keep repeating about the greatness of plant based diet. Takes away from the flow of the book. The narrator is excellent.

Beautiful story !
I just loved it! I could not stop listening to it until the end and Julia's voice is absolutely perfect for this book! Gargoyles, mysteries, Alchemy, oh my! Cannot wait for the next one!

OK mystery but...
I like a good fantasy/mystery story but all the veganism in this story made me lose my appetite. A bit too much focus on food. The narrator was good though.

Legit Alchemical Lore and a few laughs, too.
The author managed to weave enough legitimate alchemical lore into this tale to make the fictional narrative feel steeped in history. The plot was consistent, and the danger was kept to a family-safe level, unless you count the off-screen murders. A great liesure read! Looking forward to the next volume.

Never get bored
It was wonderfully read wonderfully written and lots of fun to listen to anybody interested in a bit of fantasy That you can think is real Would love this and the way it's read is relaxed yet and so entertaining.
Why are there no Author bio's short or otherwise; Same for vocal actors? As Julia Motyka is fabulous accents and all!

A great magical tale
Zoey has been running from alchemy for a very long time. When she settles down in Portland, murder, a sassy gargoyle, and a troubled boy turn her world upside down. So much for staying under the radar. This is a thrilling story that lovers of paranormal fantasy, alchemy, Becca Andre's Final Formula series and Debra Harkness' All Souls Trilogy will enjoy.

Fun story, great performance!
