I've loved this book for a while, and greatly enjoyed the audio book when it first came out. Recently, I started my fourth reread after recommending it to an author friend as something truly special by Sarina Bowen. I don't think I realized the first time I listened to it what an outstanding performance Kate Rudd gives. Her ability to give every character different voices reflective of the personalities makes listening such an enjoyable and easy to understand experience. I was particularly impressed with her performance of the male characters. Each one sounds different and reflects a world of different life experiences and emotions. I'm about to search out other books featuring her voice simply to enjoy her interpretation of another story; and that's the highest compliment I can give.

loved this - not what I was expecting but loved it. wow. that narrator!!! incredible. it’s hard to believe one person did all those voices - you could easily tell by the voice which character was being portrayed.

This book was in the results of my search for romance in the plus category. While I consider this book womens fiction, it being much more than mere romance. I'm glad It 'landed' in my listen list. Apart from a bit of a slow start, this book is exceptionally well written. The emotional layering and relational dynamics are skillfully penned. Seldom have I experienced a book in which the issue of abandonment is so well exemplified. This author not only expressed a keen understanding of abandonment, she expressed a keen understanding of family dynamics with depth and clarity. The narration upheld the quality of writing and emotional depth of the book.

Wow! I have had the pleasure of enjoying several of Sarina Bowen’s via audiobook and am simply blown away with this story! I wasn’t sure I wanted to read a YA book but I am so glad I did!!! The thing that brings this audiobook to the next level is the outstanding performance of Kate Rudd! I can not remember a recently enjoyed book with a solo performer that even comes close to Rudd’s work! Bravo! Off to share this gem with my 2 teenaged daughters!
