Publisher's Summary

A riveting new novel from Danielle Steel, whose countless number-one New York Times best sellers have made her one of America's favorite storytellers.

Heads always turned when Rose McCarthy walked into a room. Nearly six feet tall, she was ramrod straight, and impeccably put together with faultless style, long graceful legs, her snow-white hair cut in a chin-length rounded cap. Her piercing blue eyes missed nothing. She could terrify anyone with a few well-chosen, soft-spoken, eloquent words, or comfort and delight a young employee with generous praise. For 25 years, she had been the legendary editor in chief of Mode magazine. Gentle, polite, supremely competent, she ran it with an iron hand, with the ultimate grace and discretion. She was known for her excellent judgment, wise decisions that always benefitted the magazine, her dedication and love of fashion....

Wow

I loved this story - so much feeling - I had to keep listening. Great storyline. I just loved the love created, the forgiveness… my favourite author - thank you Danielle Steele.

I can't get over the horrible decisions the characters make in this book. I would have returned it if I could.

Struggled to Finish

Really, nothing much happens in this book after the first firat chapter! lots of.details.on what everyone is eating and wearing, creating oversimplified and one dimensional characters.

Boring

I was so disappointed with this book. I kept waiting for something to happen but nothing much ever did. So disappointed - I usually love Danielle Steele’s books.

Amazing book!

I have to say I don’t understand the negative review another reader left. I’ve read every Danielle Steel book and this was a terrific one with a great story of love. If you love Danielle’s writing you’ll love this book. If you’ve never read her books, you’ll still love this book. I have over 1500 books in my audible library and rarely give reviews. This was worth a review!

It gets a star because of the reader

I've read many, many Danielle Steel books, some are quite wonderful. Many with Jim Frangione reading, who does a fine job. The Affair is the worst DS book I've read, by far. It's trite, insipid, banal and just plain stupid. It's like she started writing, went off to do something else for a month or so, came back, started writing again, forgot what she'd written and just began writing the same drivel again. Did she think we'd forget what she wrote? So much repetition, so much whining. The only redeeming character is Pascal. At least she knew what she was and wanted. Wondering why I even finished.

Seriously?

I found this book to be a bit much. Danielle Steel sounds so stuffy when she uses the word “ important” all the time. And the ending? I would like to see the epilogue ...when Nicholas cheats again when Nadia gets older. And the poor baby will be a reminder. I feel like she was way too forgiving. Would have liked to have seen her have her own fun for a while ....and only then...MAYBE decide to get back with the double-cheater. Not DS’s best work.

Predictable

Very predictable, could of had more twist and turns. Also I thought the narrator should of been female.Story had no depth to it.

Zzzzz

I was not a big fan of this book. The plot never seemed to get off the ground.

Great story and love triangle

This book is wonderful! Although I imagined a different ending. It's a great read that can make fiction seem so close to the reality and challenges people can face.

Expected more from Danielle Steele

Used to be a big fan of DS novels, but this one left me wanting more. Very drawn out with a ho-hum plot.

This book could have been 2 chapters

There is a lot of repetition and blah blah blah in between a semi-decent storyline.

Why must there always be a male narrator for her books?

Typical DS -
