On Getting Unstuck, Pema Chodron introduces a rare Tibetan teaching she received from her teacher, Dzigar Kontrul Rinpoche, and one that has become critical to her practice. Here, she unveils the mystery of an ineffable quality; a "pre-emotional" feeling that arises in us, brings us discomfort, and causes us to react by escaping the discomfort, often with harmful habits. With Getting Unstuck, she offers us a first look at "both the itch and the scratch": what Tibetan Buddhists call shenpa.

Story
A business parable about how to create a start-up that won't trap you when you want to sell it. According to John Warrillow, the number one mistake entrepreneurs make is to build a business that relies too heavily on them. Thus, when the time comes to sell, buyers aren't confident that the company-even if it's profitable-can stand on its own. To illustrate this, Warrillow introduces us to a fictional small business owner named Alex who is struggling to sell his advertising agency.

Publisher's Summary
What is it that keeps us from asking for what we want? So often, the things that we want in our lives elude us for one very surprising (and deceptively simple) reason. We don't ask for them. From a higher salary... to a better bargain... to a little more help around the house, there are all sorts of desires that we harbor but never achieve, when the fact is, we haven't taken the most important step of all. Now, from the brilliant team who created the best-selling Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books, Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen, comes an all-new audio program that addresses this perplexing yet universal condition - The Aladdin Factor: How to Ask For and Get What You Want in Every Area of Your Life.
The Aladdin Factor teaches you solid, proven techniques for blasting through roadblocks to reach the rewards that lie beyond. You'll learn how to shed self-limiting thoughts, and feel strong and deserving of the things you want. You'll discover how to ask and who to ask in different situations... at home, at work, in shops, on the telephone. You'll master "the technology of making an effective request," and get a tantalizing glimpse of how different life is when you start asking. Hansen and Canfield weave their sound advice together with inspirational stories of the "Masters of the Lamp"- people who have succeeded in getting what they want by applying the seemingly simple tactic of just asking for it. You'll recognize yourself in their stories, and realize just how much is out there waiting for you.

One of the greatest programs I’ve listened to...
Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen pour their hearts out and share the deepest gems that they’ve learned while building out their empire, Chicken Soup for the Soul. They have, what seems like, an incredible conversation, NOT like a book, a narrator that just reads to you. It felt like they were speaking directly with me, helping me, giving me advice, sharing with me, encouraging me to lead with love and ask for what I really want in my life. We’ve been taught that asking is not a good thing since we were children. Jack and Mark give some great insights on why NOT asking is a disservice. If you would like to evolve, progress and really “get it”, don’t even think twice about this program/book. Just get it, read it, listen to it and witness your most beautiful life unfold as you practice the principles in this soul-moving book. I finished the Audible version for the first time and will be going over it again and again because the philosophies and ideas in this book are timeless (for the person who is finally open). I wish you all the best in your life if you’ve read this review. Now instead of wishing yourself, get the Aladdin Factor and you’ll have your own blue genie to help you out during your life. The cool thing is that you can use this stuff every single day, not being limited to just 3 wishes. Buy it, invest in yourself, your future. There’s a reason you bumped into this review. You can thank me later.

Easy listening and inspiring
My headline says it all. I've been a long time reader and follower of Tony Robbin, Dr. Wayne Dyer, etc. and this book is along that similar vein. Except it's more easily digestible as the principles are taught through stories and anecdotes. Hence, you'll be absorbing the info even while you listen while doing to chores like what I do. Highly recommend if you're new to the motivation, self-help field. And even if you're a veteran of the teachings, it's a great supplement.

We generally don't have because we don't ask. The authors do a great job of teaching both the mindset and the process of asking to attain what you desire. They cover business, personal, and even consumer relationships.

Where does The Aladdin Factor rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This book is a great book to listen to.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I adore Jack and Mark both.
Any additional comments?
I didn't think I was ever going to read this book because, who needs a book on asking? Well, I did. It was great motivation and information for me because in business and in life, asking is everything. Reading this book was eye opening.

This book sounds as cheap as "Piranha Marketing"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
People loving radio broadcasts will enjoy it, since zero competition over there.
What was most disappointing about Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield ’s story?
I really *REALLY* believed this book is written by the same authors as "Piranha Marketing: The Seven Success Multiplying Factors to Dominate the Market You Enter"
- it sounds exactly as this one (from another authors!)
Am I mistaken? I bought all audibles by Jack Canfield!
As in "Piranha Marketing", two people are having converation, telling stories to each other, without any step-by-step approach to move us (listeners) from "there" to "here". Is it really a book? How much time was spent on writing it, 5-7 hours in audio studio?
It must go to "podcasts" for free!!!
Would you be willing to try another one of Mark Hansen and Jack Canfield ’s performances?
I'd try other books by Jack Canfield, although I am absolutely sure everything here is just bites for his premium-priced high-value info products.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Happy fishing :)
