Publisher's Summary

A Neverending Race to Survive the Worst of Nature and Mankind. This Is the Alt Apocalypse.

The Alt Apocalypse is the ground-breaking, genre-bending series from Tom Abrahams. It explores survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist (and no cliff-hangers). This series, which can be listened to in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story. But every book dunks them into a new, alternate apocalypse; a nuclear holocaust, an earthquake, a flood, a wildfire, a hurricane, a plague, and even zombies.

Different heroes will emerge in each novel. Different characters will survive and perish. Your favorite character dies in one book? He or she will be back in the next. In the end, you'll unwind the loose thread that connects every character and every stand-alone story.

This collection includes all five full-length novels in the series: Ash, LIT, TORRENT, AFFLICTION, and POX.

interesting concept.

The concept is different than most apocalyptic books. There are some suspensions of belief (how is a flood in New Orleans an apocalypse?) and some tiny inconsistencies (if most iterations are basically identical, why is Lance the news anchor a jerk in some, while others such as Danny maintain his personality?) one other interesting point is how the author uses his own non-series fictional character Marcus Battle as a real life hero (maybe I haven't made it far enough in the Traveller series to see Marcus come through to current society?)... This aside, I am glad I found it.

Excellent story

At first there was a little confusion why the writer would put the same characters into different stories, but about 3/4 of the way through the book, it all made sense in a very creative way. Well done, what a great way to wind up the series!

Excellent,Intriguing,Satisfying!

I really enjoyed this series. The very different approach to using the same characters in different books involved in different disasters was genious. All of it topped off by my favorite narrator! So sorry Im finished.Makes it hard to find another series even close to this good!

Great concept - engrossing story

Without giving anything away, I really enjoyed this series, the books built the concept as it went so the “twist” was gradual and very natural to the storyline. Loved the character development and the narrator did an excellent job of voicing the various participants of all genders. My only (very small) criticism is that the ending came suddenly and felt a teensy bit contrived- the science behind the whole series felt solid and believable except for the last few chapters, specifically the ending premise - can’t say more without spoiling it for others. On the whole it was excellent and I really enjoyed this listen.

Another great series

Loved all the twists and turns. Moving from one reality to another.
Kevin Pearce is the best narrator. Easy to listen to and really brings the book to life.

Long but interesting

the novelty of 6 parallelling stories kept me listening. Six stories made it a very long listening experience. At some point, I began listening with one ear so I could follow the changes in the stories and characters, but cared less. The happily ever after ending was too soapy for me. The premise was thought-provoking given advances in science technologies..
