Story
Hopping from the Hamptons to the Manhattan dating world, the dog park to the red carpet, Cardinals superfan and mama's boy Andy Cohen, with Wacha in tow, is the kind of star fans are dying to be friends with. This book gives them that chance. If The Andy Cohen Diaries was deemed "the literary equivalent of a Fresca and tequila" by Jimmy Fallon, Superficial is a double: dishier, juicier, and friskier. In this account of his escapades, Andy tells us not only what goes down but exactly what he thinks.

Story
From a young age, Andy Cohen knew two things: He was gay, and he loved television. Now presiding over Bravo's reality-TV empire, he started out as an overly talkative pop-culture obsessive, devoted to Charlie's Angels and All My Children - and to his mother, who received daily letters from him while he was at summer camp, usually reminding her to tape the soaps. In retrospect, it's hard to believe that everyone didn't know that Andy was gay; still, he remained in the closet until college. Finally out, he embarked on making a career out of his passion for television.

In the spring of 2006, a new kind of show premiered on Bravo: The Real Housewives of Orange County. Fifteen seasons on, RHOC is an institution, along with The Real Housewives of New York, Atlanta, New Jersey, Miami, Potomac, and more.

What does “Give them Lala” mean? It means giving the truest, most honest version of yourself to the world. It means being authentic, bold, adventurous, and having an unapologetic approach to life. Hollywood is where Lauren Burningham, aspiring actress from Utah, fully embraced her alter-ego Lala Kent, entrepreneur, entertainer, and film and television star. Some say she’s rude; Lala says she claps back. Some say she’s too bold; Lala knows she’s reality TV gold. Truth is, without giving them Lala, Lauren could never have become the woman she is today.

Publisher's Summary
A year in the whirlwind life of the beloved pop icon Andy Cohen, in his own cheeky, candid, and irreverent words As a TV producer and host of the smash late night show Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen has a front row seat to an exciting world not many get to see. In this dishy, detailed diary of one year in his life, Andy goes out on the town, drops names, hosts a ton of shows, becomes codependent with Real Housewives, makes trouble, calls his mom, drops some more names, and, while searching for love, finds it with a dog. We learn everything from which celebrity peed in her WWHL dressing room to which Housewives are causing trouble and how.
Nothing is off limits - including dating. We see Andy at home and with close friends and family (including his beloved and unforgettable mom).
Throughout, Andy tells us not only what goes down, but exactly what he thinks about it. Inspired by the diaries of another celebrity-obsessed Andy (Warhol), this honest, irreverent, and laugh-out-loud funny audiobook is a one-of-a-kind account of the whos and whats of pop culture in the 21st century.

I wanted to like this... But I just can't
I loved his last book so I was certain this one would be great. I'm a big fan of Andy and all his shows on Bravo but this book is such a snooze. He reads through one boring day after another.
It doesn't matter how big the celebrity name is that gets dropped or how glamorous the party he went to was, the retelling of it all is terribly boring.
It's like listening to a coworker you hardly know go on and on about their weekend... Only this time you actually paid to hear about it.

And then some.
What did you love best about The Andy Cohen Diaries?
I love Andy. I think he's honest and funny and smart and very real. I think this book is an honest look into his life. He is a busy man juggling many things and living his awesome life. He doesn't make excuses for the way he lives or what he does he does it and lives it and ENJOYS it. I love haring people love their lives, even if its not perfect. The dog, hilarious addition to the book and his life.
What did you like best about this story?
I am jealous of his friendship with SJP. I feel like I want to be Andy....
What about Andy Cohen’s performance did you like?
He is very energetic and passionate when he is telling his story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

My Self- Absorbed Hedonistic Life
Would you try another book from Andy Cohen and/or Andy Cohen?
This is by far the worst audio book ever! 365 daily ramblings of a rich, self-absorbed, gay man always on the prowl for his next hook-up and finding time for his endless 2 hour massages. What a shallow life this guy leads. Every so-called celebrity is mentioned in this endless name-dropping tale of his life in the Hamptons and Fire Island. If this is what celebrity life is like, you can have it. Totally worthless listen!
Has The Andy Cohen Diaries turned you off from other books in this genre?
YES!
Would you be willing to try another one of Andy Cohen’s performances?
Not in this lifetime.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Andy Cohen Diaries?
The entire book is a waste of time.
Any additional comments?
Last time I'll take a Kelly Ripa recommendation.

READ THE TITLE
I love love love me some Andy Cohen. I really do. So I was looking forward to this.
Meh.
He really does go deep on shallow things like obsessing about his weight. On the daily. His odd relationship with a mother who constantly criticizes him. Wacha. Weight. Name dropping. Wacha. Mother, Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
Not even great stories relating to the name dropping.
Sorry, Andy! I wanted to love it. Plus, he sounds unnatural reading it.

Vapid Man
A book of nightly massages, tinder, name dropping and a lot of drinking. This should have been left as a private diary. The only thing interesting was his new love of his dog; however, it dragged too long. No depth, no ah-ha moments. A year of nothing learned and no charity mentioned. Not even an offer to get the blind man home after his dog was put down at the vet.

Andy lives like a rock star! I'm so Jealous!!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Andy did a great job writing and narrating this book. He kept it very interesting and upbeat!
What did you like best about this story?
Andy kept it real. The good, the bad and the ugly!
Which character – as performed by Andy Cohen – was your favorite?
Mama Evelyn without a doubt. Hilarious!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not particularly, It's a daily diary so it was easy to pick up where you left off and not feel lost.
Any additional comments?
I recommend this audio book to whoever wants a good listen. Andy describes his relationships with many favorite celebrities and you leave the listen feeling like you know him. 5 stars

Seems honest but obnoxious!
What disappointed you about The Andy Cohen Diaries?
Most of the time when people speak honestly it is funny, witty, endearing. This seemed honest but obnoxious, mean spirited, and nasty.
What was most disappointing about Andy Cohen’s story?
His entitled and boring life filled with what seems like little substance. He seemed smarter before he actually wrote all this crap and let people into his world.
What character would you cut from The Andy Cohen Diaries?
Andy Cohen

Sad Day!
What would have made The Andy Cohen Diaries better?
A bit of himself and real feelings.
Would you ever listen to anything by Andy Cohen again?
Maybe, only because I enjoyed his first book.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Just like on his show when he started the whole, 'HAH, HA" thing, his tone becomes obnoxious and repetitive.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Andy Cohen Diaries?
I would tell him to put in some genuine feelings along with the fluffy diary commentary.
Any additional comments?
Andy Cohen is smart enough to take the "rubber necker" in all of our natures and develop shows that we ,often guiltily, love to watch. I know he is smart, he has maintained friends for years so there must be some depth and he is an entertaining show host. I expected more from him!
