Narration is awful
I introduced Anne of Green Gables to my 8 year old daughter with the wonderful version narrated by Rachel McAdams - wow, she really brought the characters to life, and made Anne and Gilbert sound 'relevant' in their life and story to someone listening in 2019 to a story written 111 years ago. Sadly, this version is terrible. The narration lost all the magic for us, and the intonation really unappealing. The accent used made the characters sound like they were from southern USA, not at all Canadian.
The other challenge in this download, while compilation of multiple LM Montgomery books, it does not keep its place and we kept getting sent back to an old part of the story and you'd have to scroll through to find the chapters. Having 'part 1' or 'part 2' that aren't at the end of a book, but part way through is illogical to me and frustrating to listen to.
I'm requesting a refund.

It’s OK
I was glad to find an Anne collection in one audio book - that is definitely a good deal. But I find the narration to be distracting and even grating. I could barely get through Anne of Avonlea - the vocal interpretations of Davy and Gilbert were frankly bad. And it seems that in fact this audiobook doesn’t include the FULL collection of Anne stories, skipping Anne of Windy Poplars and Anne of Ingleside altogether. I wonder why? All in all, only OK.

Good narration, but terrible formatting
I decided to try out this collection after falling in love with Rachel McAdams’ version of Anne and wanting to continue on with Anne’s story. The narration is good, although it doesn’t have the same sweetness that McAdams brings to the characters.
The reason why I am only giving the collection three starts is because of the way it is formatted. The books are all split into two different recordings, and the chapters don’t reset after a book has ended. For example, I am currently on Chapter 30 on Anne of the Island, but according to audible I am on Chapter 98 in the fourth book. It is very frustrating, as a little bit of care in formatting the book would have easily fixed this, making the collection much easier to navigate, especially if you lose track of your chapter.
All in all, this collection is undoubtedly a great value, as it has all of the stories in one place. If one can stand the formatting, it is a steal!

My Favourite book of my childhood
The books as you might have guessed from the title - are excellent. The narration of the first book is spot on - Accents are a good representation of both the area, and the age of each character and the characters are easy to differentiate....Anne of Avonlea, however, lets the side down. Davey has an unaccountably strong Southern US accent. The rest are VERY americanised - Many clearly from Davey's neck of...PEI??, and Gilbert sounds like an elderly halfwit. Words are pronounced oddly, and sentences are read as though by a computer - emphasis on weird portions of sentences, and there are odd pauses, making the narration choppy, rather than flowing. Which is sad, as the actual words flow like poetry if read well. I've given the performance three stars, but if this narrator reads much more of the book, I may have to revise it down.

A timeless story done well
The narration done by one is better than the other, but overall the narration is good. This is a really great collection of the full set of books. You can’t beat the price! They are not, however separated into books. The first book, Anne is Green Gables, for example, is Part 1 and the first part of Part 2, then Part 2 continues with book 2, Anne of Avonlea, etc.

Great story, good narrator, audiobook format is c
I love this story so much. And the furst narrator is engaging! The second narrator has a sweet voice but I much prefer the first. my big problem with the audiobook is that none of the chapters are labeled, book is broken into six parts for download purposes but not labeled. It's very difficult to tell which book I'm on, and Which chapter I'm in in that book. Twice, in the audiobook, the story shifts of abruptly and I I've tried to see if the book was changing or what caused the change. I've tried to rewind and relisten to make sure I didn't miss something. it would have been much easier had there been any indication of where in the story I was

WORTH THE WAIT
To a reader nothing beats finding out the as the author originally meant it to be told. While this collection only has 6 of the 8 books. you can now read the whole with audible. I could not recommend it more. The ability to imagine is a precious gift for those of all ages. These books slow it to flourish. I think the books should be read in order.
Books 4 and 6 need to be purchased separately. The narrations are well done and clear.
I could not recommend this series more highly enjoy it I did

Not loving the narrator.
I purchased this to continue reading about Anne after reading the first book, narrated by Mary Sarah. Sorry to say that it is a huge disappointment to me after listening to the other narrator. Mary Sarah was awesome; this narrator, unfortunately, does not appeal to me at all. The story, itself, is enchanting! and I loved it and want more!
