Publisher's Summary

This program features audio recorded by the author inside a fighter jet.

Based on a career of making high-stakes, split-second decisions as an elite U.S. fighter pilot,
The Art of Clear Thinking teaches listeners how to make better decisions in everyday life.

The training to become a fighter pilot is among the most competitive and difficult in the world with less than one-in-a-thousand succeeding. Pushing a cutting-edge jet to its limits at over 1,000 mph means that every split-second decision can have catastrophic consequences. This extreme environment has forged a group of warriors who for the last 50 years have been considered at the apex of decision-making theory and practice.

In The Art of Clear Thinking Hasard Lee distills what he’s learned during his career flying some of the Air Force’s most advanced aircraft. Through riveting storytelling—both from his time as a fighter pilot and fascinating turning points throughout history—Hasard relates to the audience in a compelling and accessible way that makes the audiobook as entertaining as it is useful.

Hasard has used and taught these decision-making techniques across the full spectrum of human endeavor and proved their effectiveness both in the cockpit and the boardroom. Those who have already benefited include CEO’s, astronauts, CIA agents, students, parents, and many others. The Art of Clear Thinking is an audiobook that will change how you interact with the world around you.

Superb storytelling and unnerving suspense

As an aviation enthusiast, private pilot, and owner/CEO of a company, this was an incredible journey filled with excitement, suspense, and education. Thanks Hasard!

Discipline and sacrifice of US Airforce

I really appreciated the re-enforced need to assess problems, to keep level-headed, to commit to making split second decisions based upon risk assessments.

Amazing stories and some great business lessons

My favourite book in a long time. This book got me! Wow! The stories were incredible, he has such a great way of teaching I finished the book in two days. Lot of take aways if you work under pressure and how the airforce teaches mental toughness. Thoroughly recommend 10/10.
Read it, I bet you’ll love it.

This isn’t a “self-help book”. It’s a collection of lessons learned by aviators at the highest level.

Great listen. I actually took notes and have already utilized some of the advice at work. No made up self help philosophy here, it’s just lessons learned in real world missions by fighter pilots and how to adopt that decision making process.
