Disappointing

When one pays $30 for an autobiography but then it ends 30 years before the end of the man’s life, that is disappointing.
The story is a great one

very encouraging

Really encouraging to everyone who truly wants to follow Christ. I frequently had to stop listening and just digest some of the thoughts and make some notes

Tedious Listening

Would much rather have had an author summarize the main highlights of his daily journals. He was an amazing man of faith, but needs to be presented in a much more interesting way. Fell asleep several times while listening.

Amazing story of how God provides for all who earnestly seek Him. This has changed how I approach the Father in prayer

Hidden Jewels

Book is repetitious which I don't mind. My philosophy is repetiion is the key to learning. The accounts may seem unlikely to the inexperienced in faith. But to those who have tasted and know the Lord is good Müller's accounts simply give confirmation of the God you serve.

It was interesting to hear the gem of how God used Mülller's book to spark the fire for those who had a part in the revivals that took place in Europe.

May God raise more men and woman who will dare to see if the Lord does in fact provide for His own as a testimony to our generation.

Already read 4 times, starting 5th

Would you consider the audio edition of The Autobiography of George Müller to be better than the print version?

The book is wonderfully read, making what could be a dull diary very compelling instead.

What did you like best about this story?

Mr. Muller was obviously a detail person, noting each hae'penny given to his work. Interspersed with the detail is a narrative of stated need and the resulting supply in answer "to prayer to God alone," as he says over and over. These matches of need and supply are astounding and very encouraging. At the beginning of the book, one learns that the young George Muller was quite a scoundren of the lying and cheating and stealing sort. While that narrative is interesting, I needed to hear it only once. Am skipping those early chapters on subsequent readings.

What does Derek Perkins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Perkins has added personality to words on the page. I bought a second book on Mr. Muller, with a different reader, and had a problem making the transition to a new voice for the story. Mr. Perkins has become the "real deal" personna of Mr. Muller.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

At times, I have to turn the speakers off to revel in the events presented. Am on my fifth time through, and everything still seems fresh and new.

Any additional comments?

For anyone considering a life of dependent faith, this text is our Mother Ship. It's scripture in action, and an unbeatable testimony of what trust in God yields. Highly recommended.

Encouraging!!!!

Wonderful true account. I loved listening to this book and it has caused me to pause and take a good look at my own pray life and reliance on the Lord. I have even begun to make changes in these areas of my Christian walk. It was nice to listen too as I worked with my hands and even held the interest of my 8 year old daughter.

What a gracious God Christians have!

I enjoyed hearing how God, through Christ, was faithful to His promises in G. Miller's life! And His faithfulness not only stretched over many decades, but accomplished so much good for so many people.

dry but profoundly encouraging

how neat to read the work of the Lord as written in the acrual words of his faithful servant 160+ years ago! there were plenty of moments when this account read like a bookkeeping ledger, but there is a compelling message through it all, and I came away greatly encouraged.

Beautiful faith-increasing story!

I am a daily walker and I listened to every minute of this wonderful Christian autobiography. I listened and re-listened to many many parts. My faith has grown and my understanding enlarged as to what it means to be a Bible believing Christian. Well worth the read. The narrator was excellent!

Journal entry after journal entry

Unfortunately, I could only make it into Chapter 9 before deciding not to listen to any more; only because the reciting of journal entry after journal entry of counting this and that was not what I was hoping for from this book.

WOW!

God used the testimony of the George to shed light and understanding to me concerning prayer, faith, trusting and waiting on God. His life challenges me to look to God for more and reconsider my motives in my work. To the seeker of knowledge concerning prayer this is a must read.
