When I read the poor reviews I did not believe I would not like the book after all it was by my one of favorite authors, I was wrong. The premise of the story was great but honestly this mess of a book should have been sent back to Mr. Knootz with a note saying "Rework you can do better!". It is like this was a first or second draft and toward the conclusion you definitely have the "LETS GET Er DONE" feeling. Benny the main character deserved better than this.

I actually really liked this book. I read a few bad reviews but gave it a chance and had more than a few chuckles and laughs. I didn’t care for the author’s comments during the story. I get irritated easy though so found it distracting and annoying. I’m going to listen to it again, I probably missed a bit from laughing so much.

A little bit different from the usual but still enjoyable. After I got into it, I enjoyed the story. Narration was superb.

Quirky

Based on the description of the title, I expected a much more horror focused story - which none of it came across as such the more I listened. While I did finish the entire book, expecting it to get scarier, what I got was a campy comedic-esque (though not overly funny) thriller-lite story. Not my cup of tea unfortunately.

This was my first Dean Koontz book, and though I’ve been heard he’s a great horror writer, this may have not been a good first choice of book by him.

Performance was fantastic, lending different voices to differentiate characters in a very well done way.

I only started reading/listening to Dean Koontz books 2 years ago, so far this is one of my favorites.

New Favorite

I am a huge Dean Koontz fan. I have read every single one of his books, so when this one was released, it was a no brainer to purchase it. It was horrible. Very weak story line, too far fetched for me. The narrator was great, the story was just very bad. Upset I used my credits for it.

I’m a Dean Koontz fan but this book is just to silly and predictable for me. I haven’t bothered finishing it and am trying to return it so I can get my credit back but Audible is not showing a “return”….
