Publisher's Summary

“Thursday morning. One hundred pounds overweight, no man in sight, and rounding the bend to 57 years old - a full-blown catastrophe.”

What happens when you realize you’ve had the career of your dreams, but you don’t have the life of your dreams? This was the stark reality facing Sheri Salata when she left her 20-year stint at The Oprah Winfrey Show, Harpo Studios, and the OWN network. She had dedicated decades to her dream job, and loved (almost) every minute of it, but had left the rest of her life gathering dust on the shelf. After years of telling other people’s makeover stories, Sheri decided to “produce” her own life transformation. And this meant revisiting her past, excavating its lessons, and boldly reimagining her future.

In this audiobook, she invites listeners along for the ride - detoxing in the desert, braving humiliation at Hollywood’s favorite fitness studio, grappling with losses, reinventing friendships, baring her soul in sex therapy, and more. Part cautionary tale, part middle-of-life rallying cry, Sheri’s stories offer profound inspiration for personal renewal.

Blah blah blah

I like her podcast, but this book just seems like more of the same. Some parts were interesting, but mostly it felt like recycled self-help that we've heard a million times before.

Been searching for a book like this!

This book spoke directly to me in many ways. Career success. Navigating midlife and beyond. Power of mindset. Appreciation. Choices.

All served up by Sheri in such a joyful and powerful way. The stories are fabulous and the way they are delivered, make it all even better.

Thanks for the connection, tears and laughter!

Satisfactory

It was encouraging but lacked something. The reading was monotone when I thought she could have been more animated. However, she owned her story. Kudos.

Read well, but not my cup of tea

I didn’t feel that this book had enough of what I thought it needed. There was really only one or two chapters that grabbed my attention and moved me. It wasn’t bad, and worth the time if you have some extra. It just wasn’t life changing.

Enlightened

I loved the book, it reminded me that I am normal whatever I go through other people go through I a not alone. It has encouraged me to be kind to myself, listen to my needs. I am on a spiritual journey however sometimes I experience speed bumps however after this book I am encouraged to press on. It also reminded me that life is too short, seeing beauty in everything.. and most of all everything happens for a reason..., I loved this book thank you Sheri🙏🏿

Sheri’s The Beautiful No is a big YES!

Listening to this audio book is like spending a girls weekend with one of your best girlfriends. Sheri is a girls girl and so easy to relate to that now we are friends in my head. Relating to her and many of her stories is so easy. I especially enjoyed the audio book and can’t wait to check out her Pillar Life Podcast with Nancy. Oprah was lucky to have her as her wing women.

Love it!

The author was interviewed on my favorite podcast Marketing Made Easy by Amy Porterfield. I loved the interview, Sheri was funny, raw and honest. I decided to see what this beautiful No was about so I brought it on audible. I have to admit I didn't know what to expect but I absolutely love this book! I felt like she was walking and talking directly to me. I was able to relate to her story and saw parts of my life through her. This book made me feel like it ok to live life to the fullest with no regrets. It is definitely a must read!

Beautiful Read

There was a lot in the book that I enjoyed but I will admit that I skipped some parts that seemed to not really go anywhere. I'm a dog lover myself but I was bored to tears when she went on and on about her dogs. I get it, you love them. I love mine too. But I don't expect other people to love them as much as I do or care for that matter. Anyway, overall I enjoyed the story but secretly wished there was more about working for Oprah and Harpo studios, that's what truly drew me in and kept me listening.

The Beautiful No - the best audio book ever

Sheri Salata’s heartfelt audio recording of her book, The Beautiful No, made the genuine words she shared even more meaningful. I listened to most of the book on 2 separate flights, and cried on both. I also was uplifted. Her story is important for people of all ages. She shared so honestly, and because of that - I believe so many people can relate. Thank you Sheri for sharing your gift with words - both in writing and through your beautiful, sincere voice. I am honored to be part of your dream tribe.
