Publisher's Summary
Joseph the Bellmaker is troubled. It has been four seasons since his warrior-mouse daughter, Mariel, and her companion, Dandin, set off from Redwall to fight evil in Mossflower. Nothing has been heard of them since. Then one night, in a dream, the legendary Martin the Warrior comes to the Bellmaker with a mysterious message. Clearly, Mariel and Dandin are in grave danger. Joseph and four Redwallers set off at once to aid them. As they push over land and sea, they cannot know the terrible threats they face: the impossible Foxwolf, Urgan Nagru, his mate Silvamord, and their vicious rat hordes. Can the impetuous sailor-otter Finbarr Galedeep help them cross the sea? What is the mystery of Roaringburn? And most important, will the Bellmaker and his companions arrive in time to help Mariel and Dandin?

sound is awful
I love the Redwall books but I could understand 90% of what Brian was reading. Waste of a credit for me...

An Excellent Work
A tale of adventure, friendship, battles, and food. Told by a full cast of actors complete with occasional singing. Listeners beware, numerous descriptions of food may make one hungry.

good story
the story fit well with the others of the redwall collection.
the cast brought the book and character to life.
while hints were left to the links to previous books, no direct mention it made about reunions or special weapons... the books were not written in a specific order, so it is understandable.
as opposed to "outcast of redwall", a character in this book findshis way to become a good rat, despite his up-bringing. he sees the right way to live and follows it in the face of certain death. i would highly recommend this book for teen and adults, but children my not understand the trials of stream-battle and mutta.

Sequel to Mariel
This was an extremely captivating story. I found myself just as caught up as I had been when I first read Mariel of Redwall. It had some extremely sad moments, some tense fight scenes, and new twists that always seem to draw me back to Brian Jacques. I love that he narrates most of his books personally, and the fact that he has a full cast to fill the roles is absolutely my favourite experience.
