Publisher's Summary

Kiera Cass brings another sparkling romance to a stunning conclusion in this sequel to the instant number one New York Times best seller The Betrothed, performed by Jasika Nicole (Fringe, The Good Doctor, Alice Isn’t Dead).

Can you follow your heart when it’s already broken?

After fleeing Coroa and leaving the memory of her beloved Silas behind, Hollis is unsteadily adjusting to life in Isolte. The Eastoffe family’s affection is a balm on her weary spirit, though Etan, a surly cousin with a deep distaste for Coroans, threatens to upset the uneasy peace she’s found.

While tensions at home ratchet up, disquiet in the kingdom of Isolte is reaching a fever pitch. The Eastoffes may have the power to unseat a tyrannical king - but only with Hollis’ help. Can a girl who’s lost it all put the fate of her adopted homeland over the secret longings of her heart?

what the hell is with that ending

**SPOILER**

No big fight that was built up? all of the chapters after the 3 month page felt rushed and like an epilogue with a very weird HEA... I feel it needs a book 3 to really do this ending justice

The last 30min….disappointing

To not try to give spoilers.

The last 30min was extremely disappointing. What felt like a big lead up to maybe a whole 3rd book was resolved in about 5mins.

It was disappointing to say the least. I was actually so dissatisfied that I was yelling at my car and almost cause it was sooooo stupid of a solution.

Once I did finish the book I had to call my sister who had also read the book to vent my frustration.

Case is wonderful at work building, setting, characters etc. where I find her lacking is the conclusion. This is not the first time I have found her endings to feel rushed.

SPOILERS (CAUSE I STILL CANT GET OVER THIS)

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? A lead up to what sound like it’s gonna be this great big fight and maybe some spy work is resolved cause king boy gets so mad he trips and falls on his own sword!!!!!!! AND THEN due to stupid law since they where “technically” married she’s Queen? And like NO ONE HAS AN ISSUE WITH THIS???!???!!!???!!

LIKE WTF???!!!?!?!!???

And then we jump 3 months and everything is all good in the kingdom??!!!?!! And it’s only her love life that kinda a mess, expect it’s not but whatever that’s fine. I love love.

What I don’t love is being lead into what I think is gonna be a big dramatic fight, a feeling of oh ya girl get him and then being let down cause dummy was a dummy.

Loved! Loved! Loved!

Great continuation from the first book, The Betrothed. Good character growth and story development
