Publisher's Summary

Humor and heat collide in this sizzling audio-first romance by New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Anne Marsh!

Being a firefighter means I work hard and can go all night. But hey, I've got plenty of fires to put out in my downtime, too. Fortunately I've got just the tool to do it. Size matters, ladies. I've got a big one...and I would have been happy to show you before a sassy, sexy brunette crash-landed in my life.

Lola is quirky; she's talented; she's unbelievably gorgeous; and she's getting over the world's worst breakup. I've got two words for you: off limits.

So even if her smoking-hot body drives me nuts, I'll keep my tool to myself. We're friends - not lovers. I've got her back, even if what I really want to have is her front. Her mouth. Every delicious, curvy inch of her.

And then one hot, dirty night in the bed of my truck, she makes it clear that she's on fire for me. After stoking the flames and achieving a blowup of nuclear proportions, I know I'm in big trouble. Once isn't enough. Now my need for her is a four-alarm blaze...and I'm beginning to think I don't ever want it to burn out.

Hot

The Big One is a funny, hot romance. The chemistry between Lola and Hunter matches the flames that he fights doing his day job. Getting inside Hunter’s head through his POV allowed me to empathise with him and like his character even more. He’s the silent type who doesn’t do well with emotions. I enjoyed their romance and story. I’m looking forward to seeing these characters in other stories in the series.

While I enjoyed this book, there were a couple of scenes in which I had a hard time connecting with the heroine. There were also a couple of scenes that I felt left things unanswered. Without spoiling anything, I wanted more than what we were given.

I listened to this book on audio, and very much enjoyed it. The narrators were good and easy to follow/understand – regardless of the speed at which I listened to the book.

Light Fun entertainment 👏

Lola, hosts a summer break 💔 up camp that meets at a motel in the mountains. A therapeutic support club with 8 steps to cleanse their hearts of the jerks that broke them. The club is made up of all women who've sworn off men while healing. When Lola and her female companions start an illegal fire at 5:30 in the morning to burn mementoes from their bad break up's.. she meets a hunky big bear 🐻 rogue fire fighter named Hunter. Unfortunately For Hunter these sassy ladies don't appreciate his help in putting out their fire.

When Hunter turns sympathetic to the reason for the burn party, he ignites the memorabilia and requests to be the only male member of the club. Eventually a hesitant Lola cave's and allows his request when she learns he's jilted to. The insta lust kicks up when these characters start spending time together. Lola's "sexual innuendo" flirting has Hunter squirming in his pants. A friendship develope's and the chemistry is so intense they find it hard to be together and maintain self control.

Though, the couple did have a few speed bumps this listen did remain fairly drama free. A feel good easy ROM COM with plenty of heat and humor made this a lot of fun to listen to.
The top notch narration definitely made this experience more entertaining as well. Jacob and Rose are a favorite duo of mine. You never get anything less than perfection with this pair. I'm happy with my decision to part with a credit!! 😊

Cute and Funny but...

This book is cute and often funny. It is well written and the narrators are both really good. Jacob Morgan has a deep compelling voice that is very nice to listen to. The sexual tension is instant and the relationship is relatively drama free, which I like. My only quibble with the book boils down to personal preference because I just could not like Lola. I think she is meant to be cute, quirky, and endearing but to me she just came off as aggressive, annoying, condescending, self-centered, shallow, and a borderline stalker. She's addicted to drama and seems to always need to be the center of attention. I tried. I really did. But she reminds me of some people I know and loathe in real life and it was hard to get past.

I really did like Hunter a lot. I adore the strong silent types. Plus he's sweet and responsible and a firefighter. What's not to love. I just spent the majority of the book mentally yelling at him to run away. GET OUT HUNTER!!! SAVE YOURSELF BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE! Again, this is just personal preference and your mileage may vary. The story is good as is the writing so it just boils down to the types of people you like/dislike.

No. Just no.

What woman would actually text someone 200 times. Especially a hotshot who may be risking his life at that very moment. And then to break into his house, go through his things, and take pictures and send them to him. and this would make any smart man wonder why she is single in the first place. I began reading this book because the guy is a hot shot so that had me psyched up for some hero worship. I could not get past the stalker tendencies of the heroin. I stopped reading this book before any of the good stuff actually happened and that goes against all of my OCD tendencies, but I just could not get past her.

Loved it!

What did you love best about The Big One?

I loved the characters Anne Marsh creates. They are vivid and individual. The read is fun and fast, not to mention feisty and fresh. She was able to deliver an Alpha male that was not an AlphaHole. The love story built and grew as the characters became more and more self-aware of themselves and their true personal needs and desires. I loved it!

What about Rose Dioro and Jacob Morgan ’s performance did you like?

The narrators were able to capture the characters voices and make them come to life.

Quick, fun story

Hunter is a firefighter and chick magnet. Lola is just getting over a bad break up. Sparks fly but it takes a while for the two to recognize what this really means. Quick story with lots of giggle/snort moments.

Not Bad

The storyline was ok because it was a bit unrealistic. The girl narrator was not so great but the male narrator was fantastic. He made me continue with the book and the reason I gave it 4 stars. Loved his voice and narration. Overall, if you have nothing better to read, then this is your book

A really enjoyable story

This story catches you from the beginning and I listened straight through. Enjoyable storyline without the need for over the top sex scenes and vulgar language. Well worth the read or listen. I plan to read more books by this author.
