I’M GUTTED.. IMO WRONG FEMALE NARRATOR
I loved the Devil’s Dust series and I was so excited when I found this and saw I hadn’t yet started the series.. so I ‘one clicked’ it and expected another riveting listen. But straight away my expectations were shattered when I heard the female narrator’s voice.. no, just no for a hardened biker book! I guess I’ve been spoiled over the years with A list female narrators whose male voices are sexy and believable. Nevertheless I persevered thinking well maybe she was just putting a young voice on because at the start Maddie the heroine was sixteen and I expected it’d change once ‘present day’ adult chapters were reached.. when Zane the hero is 23 and Maddie is 29 - but sadly it didn’t change.
The actual story didn’t hold me either (like all the previous ones by MNF did) it just didn’t have the same sizzling feel.. no pull, no link with the characters.. no gleeful anticipation as attraction and lust took over - was this because of the female narration or perhaps various things in the plot? Still, I persevered (and it felt exactly like that.. perseverance) in the hopes MNF would wow me again.. but sadly it just didn’t happen. Was it Jillian Macie’s unconvincing male voice?.. was it me?.. or was it something else?.. I don’t know but, for me I didn’t feel the feels, I didn’t get any gleeful anticipation during the romance build-up and I didn’t particularly like Maddie or Zane.
Worth a credit? Sadly it’s a no.. and I won’t carry on with the series if they use the same narrator.. however Nelson Hobbs was good.

Out of this world audio!
The blood that drives us is everything you want and need in a book! M.N. Forgy poured her heart and soul in this novel. With every scene that hits you to the core! Taking you to a beautiful yet gritty inferno of awesomeness. Which will fuck you up for days! But so worth the journey.
Plus I just loved the audio!

Zane & Addie
Another amazing ride. This time it’s Zane and Addie’s story. There is violence which may trigger some but there is a love story as Addie is the balm to temper the rage which consumes Zane at times. This is an interesting and entertaining read. I could not put it down. The audible narrators brought it to life and is one I will listen to again. Enjoy. Look forward to book 2. Wish there was an audible version.

Mixed feelings
Ok I was SUPER excited to see that M.N. Forgy was continuing with the Devil’s Dust Series however really wished she kept the same narrators as the previous books they really brought the stories to life and I feel like the narrators in this book didn’t help the story or the legacy of the Devils Dust.. the Female narrator made me dislike the female character in this book she came across ditzy. Not strong enough to be paired with the daughter of Bobby and the Doc. And OMG please don’t kill off Bull.. please just have him retire or take a step down please! Can’t wait for the next book/story of the other kids
