Publisher's Summary
Based on the award-winning 10-million-plus-hit blog 1000awesomethings.com, The Book of Awesome is an international best-selling high five for humanity and a big celebration of life's little moments.
Sometimes it's easy to forget the things that make us smile. With a 24/7 news cycle reporting that the polar ice caps are melting, hurricanes are swirling in the seas, wars are heating up around the world, and the job market is in a deep freeze, it’s tempting to feel that the world is falling apart. But awesome things are all around us, like:
- Popping bubble wrap
- Wearing underwear just out of the dryer
- Fixing electronics by smacking them
- Getting called up to the dinner buffet first at a wedding
- Watching The Price Is Right when you’re home sick
- Hitting a bunch of green lights in a row
- Waking up and realizing it's Saturday
The Book of Awesome reminds us that the best things in life are free (yes, your grandma was right). With laugh-out-loud observations from award-winning comedy writer Neil Pasricha, The Book of Awesome is filled with smile-inducing moments that make you feel like a kid looking at the world for the first time. Listen to it and you’ll remember all the things there are to feel good about.

Truly Awesome!
My best friend and I listened to this on a long road trip this summer. While I count myself a fantastic DJ not even I can make 24 hours in the car all that exciting so I downloaded this little book and hoped for the best. I was not disappointed! The narration is lively and fun and I like that there are a few people reading the book. The awesome things described are done so in such a way that you end up feeling nostalgic by the end of it even if you had not previously shared in the experience of a certain chapter. The content leaves you appreciating the little things in life and I highly recommend it! It's a great book that brought a little sunshine to a long trip and is one that I'll definitely listen to again!

Not the same...
I read You Are Awesome narrated by the author and really loved it. I enjoyed the back stories behind every story. I thought the Book of Awesome must be great. Not really...I couldn't get into it. If you have to pick one or the other select You Are Awesome.

Not my cup of tea
Most of my friends loved it - reminded me of the audio version of “1,000 things to be happy about”.....along with finishing every passage with the exclamation, “AWESOME !!” Couldn’t even get through the whole audio book...and I say gratitudes every day; I am not a curmudgeon or a misanthrope
