didn't get far
i couldn't even really begin this book and i was requesting a refund before the first chapter finished. the narration, there was zero feeling or flow to it. it was rigid, and there were robotic like pauses between words. i felt myself contracting more and more with each sentence. i am not sure how there are so mnay books narrated by this narrator, but good on her for making a career of it?
there was also the issue in of the bloated, self-aggrandizement that seemed to go beyond just listing her experiences. i get that she has carved herself a nice niche as a self styled "shaman" in the white middle class world, but let your work speak for itself, rather than an intro chapter of how great you are. bblaaaah.

Highly Relevant Teaching
I found this book quite powerful. The approach to ceremony, the adaptation of shamanic practices to modern applications, and the warmth of the writing was excellent. I've been quite skeptical of Sandra Ingerman's work in the past, but this book really changed my mind. She's a really skilled teacher and offers some really fresh insight, advice, and wisdom in this book. Very much enjoyed it, and will listen to it again.

I wish the author would have narrated it.
I really enjoyed the content. Having listened to several other of this author's books read by the author it was a little off-putting to have a different narrator. That detracted a little throughout as the narration felt a little flat, but other than that I would recommend it.

Inspiring and useful
Sandra has a way of expressing deep, powerful, and esoteric knowledge and practices in a simple manner that anyone can apply. Her writing is humble and profound. I will turn to this book for reference for years to come.

superb Foundation
if you're looking for an introductory book about shamanic ceremonies this is it.
it gives examples of a full variety of ceremonies and also gives you room for your own interpretation to create your own shamanic experience.

Lots of good information
There is lots of good information here! For years I’ve been attending ceremonies from all over the world. Here the author takes us through different ceremonies as well as how/where to perform them. The author discusses why we need to perform ceremonies both in private and groups as well as the reasons why both are needed.

Excellent source of ceremony ideas
This rich source of ceremony ideas is not a story, it is a resource book that I would need in hard copy to be able to refer to. The author often mentions the data at the end of the book. Since there is no PDF Included there is no way to access this information.
