The narrator and sound engineer are perhaps the culprits in producing a frustrating adaptation of a promising novel. The narrator uses extreme changes in volume and timbre to convey different characters and emotion. When listening in a car with a superlative sound system (2023 Tesla model Y) the performance becomes, on occasion, undecipherable. This kind of hyperbole is unacceptable in a voice talent and the extreme dynamics are unacceptable for an audio engineer. The listener should not have to struggle to understand the performer. I would like a refund on this purchase as the quality is unacceptable!
