I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book. I like sci fi TV, but haven't tried books. The narrator is gruff and talks slowly, but after a few chapters I realized his rasping cowboy voice was perfect for the job. The story is fast paced, funny and sarcastic. Most female characters are independent and competent which is a must for me. I have purchased book 2 and am enjoying it as well. cheers
