About this listen

Performed with duet narration by Connor Crais and Erin Mallon!

A forbidden romance with my brother’s hockey teammate wasn’t on my to-do list when I moved across the country…

Neither was getting locked out of a friend’s place wearing next to nothing.

Or spending the night with the sexy stranger who rescues me.

But I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone so getting out of the rest of my clothes with him seems like a good way to start.

In the morning, I learn the filthy-mouthed man with the talented hands is not only the hotshot new hockey player on my brother’s team: he’s also–wait for it–my brand new roommate.

I’m a good student turned good librarian. A rule-follower. I’m not the kind of girl who does complicated flings. So we agree to another rule: friends-only.

It’s not easy though. Wes is bossy, flirty and generous.

He gives me rides to work.

Pitches in at my library’s fundraiser.

Takes care of me when I get hurt.

And looks at me like I’m the only one.

Soon, I’m falling hard for my brother’s teammate.

Especially when Wes comes to my door and tells me exactly how he’d like to break our rules.

Every single one.

This is a cute story. Loved the male narrator but I had a hard time with the female narrator.

Cute

Absolutely love Wesley and Josie. I think that I’m definitely into Hockey romances. There’s just something about a kind, sweet, romantic and yet flawed hockey player that gets me. This story has some spice right from the start! When a story starts off with a hot one night stand you know it will only get hotter from there. The chemistry between both characters is absolutely unmatched. Highly recommend and I am definitely a huge fan of Lauren Blakely’s writing. The way she’s got me giggling and fanning myself to the story! Oh my! Absolutely 5 stars for me

Duet Narration at its best!

The Boyfriend Goal is the first book in the Love and Hockey series featuring Wesley Bryant and Josie Winters.

Josie recently moved to town and accidentally locks herself out of her friends apartment without her phone in a tshirt and slippers. She walks across town to where her friend is working an event to try and get the entry code but the art gallery director doesn’t want to let her in in her current attire. Enter Wesley.

Wesley is going to the gallery event to support his father’s girlfriend when he stumbles upon a half naked Josie. He tells the gallery employee that she is his date and Josie is able to enter and find her friend to obtain the code.

After the debacle, Wesley offers to walk Josie home and along the way they share ice cream and he buys her a new outfit. Also along the way home they decide to go to a hotel and spend the night together. In the morning, josie is gone before Wesley even wakes up leaving a note but no phone number.

A few days later at the arena where Wesley plays hockey his team captain Christian ask the guys on the team if someone can accommodate his sister, who recently moved to town and her accommodations fell through. Wesley is quick to offer a lending hand, not knowing that his new roommate is Josie the girl he spent a night with.

After the game, Josie goes down to the players area to meet her new roommate que her surprise when it’s actually her one night stand Wesley from a few nights ago.

Josie moves in with Wesley and the two try to ignore the feelings they have for one another and become friends. All the time they spend together the lines of friendship and relationship become blurred, but will they risk breaking the rules and being together?

I LOVED this book and these characters so much! Both were easy to love and I was rooting for them throughout the book! I loved seeing other characters from some of Lauren’s other stories as well!

I was looking forward to this book and I really was enjoying it at the beginning but for me, it just fell short. The storyline was too obvious and too corny—for me anyway.
