Publisher's Summary

Much has happened in idyllic Ivy Hill in recent months, and while several villagers have found new love and purpose, questions remain - and a few dearly held dreams have yet to be fulfilled.

Jane Bell is torn. Gabriel Locke is back and has made his intentions clear. But Jane is reluctant to give up her inn and destine another man to a childless marriage. Then someone she never expected to see again returns to Ivy Hill....

Mercy Grove has lost her school and is resigned to life as a spinster, especially as the man she admires seems out of reach. Should she uproot herself from Ivy Cottage to become a governess for a former pupil? Her decision will change more lives than her own.

A secretive new dressmaker arrives in the village, but the ladies soon suspect she isn't who she claims to be. Will they oust the imposter, or help rescue her from a dangerous predicament?

In the meantime, everyone expects Miss Brockwell to marry a titled gentleman, even though her heart is drawn to another. While the people of Ivy Hill anticipate one wedding, an unexpected bride may surprise them all.

Don't miss this romantic, stirring conclusion to Tales from Ivy Hill.

WAYYYY too much evangelizing!

The headline goes for all three of the books, though the last one was the heaviest-handed. I understand that religion was particularly central to the lives of people in the time-period, and for the first book, the sub-text was handled pretty well... but with each successive book, the religion-bludgeon played a more central role. The stories themselves and the narration were good, but, I found myself making internal bets about how the author would use a given situation to, once AGAIN, remind me of how VERY MUCH God loves me. I don't mean to sound cynical, and I am, before anyone vilifies me, content with my spirituality and religious affiliation, and am not a "heathen". I prefer the books I read to have an even-handed approach; the reviews I read before getting the books didn't bring it up, so I decided to do so in my review.

Lovely story and characters

These books have fully developed characters, a mystery and sweet romance. Great insight into Georgian England. They are clean - no cussing, no sex - with a moral tone but not preachy. I thoroughly enjoyed all three and have already purchased another by this author.

The narrator does a great job with the accents and voices. Very pleasant voice.

Wonderful 3rd book in this trilogy

Great end to the trilogy. Tears of joy and sadness throughout this set. Wonderful stories of village life in the regency era. A few surprises mixed in also.

Bride of Ivy Inn

Too "proper". I thought the end would never come! three men bidding for one woman. A circus family. Just too prim and proper.

Love the characters

I love the story, characters and the feel of Ivy Green and the members if it’s community. I could with a LOT less of the religious undercurrent which is the reason it’s not a 5 star.

Conservative proper prudish slow charming English

Enjoyed all the books, narrator EXCELLENT thru the 3 books loved how the characters grew and changed as their lives changed. Such English manners, slow and proper!! Almost a comedy, many scenes really made me laugh,
Only a bit too much praying to God!

Full of wisdom

This book is full of wonderful wisdom. I wish I could impart the jewels that are set forth in this series to my grandchildren. Mainly don’t give up on God to rush headlong into what you think will make you happy.

Very enjoyable book. Would definitely recommend to others. Jane's character grows from a depressed widow to a vibrant business woman in an age where that just isn't done.
