Entranced and ready for more
This book was such a thrill to listen to. I have been waiting for more Ashley and Jaquavis audiobooks because after I had listened to Murderville I was definately hooked on their story line and the way that these to authors draw their characters and play out their story with so many twists and turns throughout the book things you would have never imagined how things would turn out. Cary Hite is amongst one of my most favorite narrators, the way that he can change his voice and go in and out of character is amazing. It seems like there are a lot of uptight people who comment on books with a lot of sex scenes or harsh language, but I loved everything about this book. It was raw and uncut gives you a taste of the real world and that is another reason that the author's have captivated me. If you don't like to hear detailed sex scenes or murders or don't like crude language then dont listen to this book. I love all the gorey details and can picture the scenes in my head, pain and pleasure. My favorite characters were Money aka Monroe and Lena and that twist in the book. I never expected what happened to happen so once you hear that part you will know what I mean. This family's story had me at the edge of my seat and I am ready for parts 2 and 3 which are downloading right now and will be commenting on them shortly. I give this book two thumbs up along with two big toes.

exciting, thrilling,
Would you listen to The Cartel again? Why?
yes, on my way to purchase parts 2 & 3, can't wait to start listening.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mecca, was my favorite, lots of drama in every scene he was in. never knew what frame of mind he was in
Which scene was your favorite?
when Breeze was abducted by the murda mama's and killed
If you could take any character from The Cartel out to dinner, who would it be and why?
NONE, I may not have made it home, they all seemed to be killers at heart.
Any additional comments?
this book reminds me of the Dutch trilogy, by Teri Woods, it was also a great audio to listen too, well worth the money. the narrator Cary Hite was great, reminds me of Erza Knight.

A terrible waste of a credit
What would have made The Cartel better?
Stupid story. Unbelievable. Characters shallow. Writing poor. Narrator can't read. The "sound effects" were ridiculous.
Would you ever listen to anything by Ashley & Jaquavis again?
NEVER
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Can't read. Mispronounces dozens of words.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Regret that I had purchased it and had to listen to it because it was the only book I had on a long airplane trip
Any additional comments?
DO NOT BUY THIS

Completed in One Day
This book ranks very high in my library. I remember the Murda Mamas from Murderville which I am still waiting for part 2 of that TRILOGY. I finished Cartel the same day and listened to it a second time so I could be ready for book 2 which I am purchasing TODAY!! I loved the twists and the drama. I really hope part 2 is just as intriguing. So far Ashley and JaQuavis is 2 for 2. GREAT AUTHORS!! Unpredictable storyline.

AWFUL
What disappointed you about The Cartel?
I stopped listening after 30 mins. The narrator was terrible, I could not stand listening to him do the womens voices. Also, I hate when audio books have sound effects. It is a book. While I am listening to someone read it to me...I do not need to hear shotgun sounds...I still have some imagination. It was like a bad impression of what some one thinks gangsters should sound like. I hated it the story, the dialog, really just the whole thing.

Not What I Expected
The sounds effects in the book were terrible. The narration was awful, especially the women's voices. He kept referring to her "Hermes" handbag and pronouncing it just like it is spelled 'Her-mees'. The way it is spoken in English sounds like 'Air-mez' Apparently he hasn't heard of this exclusive designer or he was confusing her purse with the Greek God. You would think someone would have corrected this error before distributing this audio book. The story is okay. I haven't finished it yet and I am not sure if I will be able through it. I hate to waste a credit and have only purchased 3 or 4 books that I haven't listened to all the way through.

Good book but annoying read
I love the book but I don’t know if there are typos or if he’s having trouble remembering who’s talking but saying “he” instead of “she” is truly bothersome
