Easy listening

Great stories, although the first one was a little slow in the beginning but kept my attention. 2nd book was lovely tail but the 3rd was my favourite.. a little suspense and shocking revelations, all together a great listen.
The narrator was amazing and creative with the voices.

Not the Usual Quality

This series was not nearly as enjoyable as the three Dare series were.
The writing needs some work, too. You could make a drinking game out of the number of times someone says something “wryly”. Or “expels a long breath”.
The narrator was good though.

Love those Chandler boys

Those Chandler brothers are tough nuts to crack. Their mom does what she needs to get herself some daughters in laws and grand babies. It isn’t long before the guys find out that being married isn’t as bad awful as they once thought it would be. A meddling mother isn’t so bad after all.

It’s OK at best

Story starts with a coin toss to see which brother has to get married and have kids. Really??

First story with Roman was ok. FMC did a good job realizing he was what he was - a nomad not looking to settle down. But I was stumped by the stealing of crochet panties. Google image that. It’s not at all sexy. Maybe I should try Etsy, but Google says crochet panties are about as attractive as socks with sandals.

Second story- Rick was a little more likeable. But the FMC’s little sister, Hannah?? Girl needed a Come to J speech. You call me for help and money and then insult me and are rude? How about you spend a night homeless and work on that attitude. Steal my car? Have fun in juvy! I don’t care that she is a hormonal moody teen who thinks no one loves her. Girl needed some tough love. And for Reina to consider Hannah a granddaughter was a head scratcher. Hannah isn’t the FMC’s daughter. It’s her sister!

Third book- Chase was the head of the newspaper at 17? Come again? Who in their right mind let’s a child run a newspaper when there could be internal promotion or an outside hire that’s… legal age and experienced? The FMC in this one seems to be level headed. She’s forgettable, as I can’t recall anything specific about her. I do like how she called Chase out on his 180 and hero complex and refused to immediately fall into his arms when he says he is a changed man. She doesn’t do it immediately, just the next time she sees him.

All in all, I’d say a beach read. Passes the time behind the wheel.

Carly Phillip's Never Disappoints

Love the Chandlers! I love to read series with related characters and this one had all my favorite parts: plenty of steam, the right amount of conflict, humor, and HEA. And the narrator was excellent!!

three hot brothers. one meddling mothers

The Bachelor (Roman & Charlotte): Roman and his brothers have been avoiding serious relationships like the plague. One call from his brother letting him know their mother is sick brings Roman back to his hometown. The Chandler matriarch is a trip. She is dead set on getting her boys to settle down because she wants grandbabies. In order to keep their mom's stress level down, the brothers decide that one of them must take the plunge, get married and start having kids. This is a typical guy thing to do and it was funny listening to them banter about it. Charlotte just happens to be back in town as well, she owns a lingerie store. Charlotte is the one that got away from Roman. So, let the games begin. He wants her. There's a lot of back and forth at first but then it picks up. It's a really hot story. Not the second storyline that lies within the matchmaking story felt kind of unnecessary though it made for some hilarious moments. I could've done without that "mystery". Now had it been a little more serious, more dangerous then it would've added to the book. In this case it just served as a distraction.
The Playboy (Rick & Kendall): the Chandler matriarch is still up to her shenanigans, trying to get her other two sons married with children. Rick, the police officer in town is next on her list. Kendall ends up back in town and makes a splash. With a bit of car trouble Rick is called in to help. Rick sees this as an opportunity, have Kendall pretend to be his girlfriend to keep the town's single ladies and his mom off his back. I like that both characters have a sad backstory. The two get close during their charade and it is hot. But of course the women in town are not happy. This book is funny while also tugging at your heart strings. Such a great follow-up to the first book.
The Heartbreaker (Chase & Sloane): TRIGGERS: fire, politics. The eldest and final brother of the Chandler family gets his story. He still remains adamant that he does not want to get married or have kids. Then he meets Sloane. Sloane is the daughter of a senator and she's headed to his hometown after finding out some bad news. Chandler is asked to watch over her while she's in town. She's in danger and he's there to protect her. They get closer and end up trying to fight their feelings for each other. The chemistry CP has given them is way too strong to deny and they are 🔥. This was probably my favorite out of the three books.

Same old same old...

I guess I've just read too many of these "current" cookie cutter romances on audible. No originality, no real romance. You know the ending before it begins. zzzzz
The men here are so despicable, so full of themselves. I have no idea why intelligent grown women would still scurry around them, especially in a small town where their bedrooms have a revolving door. It apparently their looks because it sure ain't the personalities described. The problem for me was the psychology of the characters never made sense... great patents, great role models, all 3 devoted to family EXCEPT they don't want any of their own. Huh? Why? Ot doesn't fit.
Also
There is no chemistry really between the 2. No cute banter, no slow burn, just a chemical reaction the readers are just supposed to acknowledge without proof. The sex... well again, with no build-up, it's just bad porn. One ridiculous sex encounter in a lingere shop - I immediately thought of the typical porn movie where copy repairman doing it with office manager on the copier... dumb. dull & nobody is gonna buy it.

Narration was good, but the content is unimaginative no matter how good the performer.

homophobic language

I had been moderately enjoying the second book in this collection when the author thoroughly disappointed me with a homophobic slur, from a teen female character with no correction from the adult character. Poorly done Carly Phillips. I will never purchase your works.

Such a great series. The narrator drew me in at first! Then the plot of each book left me wanting more. I loved that there was humor, seriousness, and passion.
