Publisher's Summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Lynsay Sands "hits all the right notes" (Suzanne Enoch) whether she's penning passionate tales of the Argeneau vampire family or transporting her listeners to the Scottish Highlands.

In her charming historical romance classic The Chase, a beautiful Highlands hellion flees the handsome "English devil" she's been promised to, and her intended groom realizes that his enchanting prize will be much harder to win than he imagined. Lynsay's loyal listeners, as well as fans of Hannah Howell and Kinley MacGregor, will adore The Chase...as well as the very sexy capture!

A new genre. Romance Comedy

Having been left waiting for 10 years, there was no way she was just going to be a simpering miss who meakly went to her bethrothed bed. If he wanted her, he was going to have to catch her. What follows is a lively chase that will make you laugh. And when he caught her, what followed will be everything you desire in a romance novel.

Rather disappointed about this one

I love Lynsay Sands' books but I'm disappointed with this one. There was no spark or chemistry between the leads and the pacing was terribly slow. Far too much time was spent on her anxiety of the wedding night and too little time was spent on character development. The non romance plot was also.... convoluted and slow. Of course, I'll get the next book in the series.

Another Sand's Winner

All Lynsay Sands books are great reads. Romance and comedy rolled into one. They make me laugh out loud often and this one did not disappoint. The narrator was not bad but, sometimes missed clear punctuation areas but, it was not enough to deter me from the story. Another fun ride.

loved

This was an amazing book. It was a well written, compelling story that grabs the readers attention right from the start. It had so much heat it made me sweat. There was plenty of steam as well. There was love and angst as well. I love the writings of this author and read everything that I can get my hands on. I gave this book five stars and would recommend it to anyone.

Dragged on

There's a story started out pretty nice. I thought it would get even better, but it became so boring dragging on, and the narration was very irritating. It was like a computer talking I don't recommend this book.

1 Chase too many

some times there were no pauses between scenes within chapters during the narration. it was a change in point of view/ character. Otherwise it was a good listen but the book is a bit repetitive. And where is Rolf's story?

Great Reading

All Lynsay book are great read , but I love her historical Romance so much they make me laugh, and I do not want to put them down even when duties call, my favorite is The Key and it took them long enough to get the book in Aubidle. The Deed is the next one you don’t want to stop listening I have read all her book in paperback but Aubidle make you not want to read just listen to the book.

Performance

Story was great, but the narrator while having a lovely voice, didn’t pay attention to the punctuation and paragraphs. This made it irritating to listen to her and having to sometimes take a second to realize what the story was saying. This really dampened the enjoyment of this fun story.

not enough action

to much talk. touchy feely does nothing for me. give me action mixed with romance. not romance with only a tiny bit of action.
