Lucy Maud Montgomery OBE (1874-1942), published as L. M. Montgomery, was a Canadian author best known for her Anne Shirley series of novels. Montgomery went on to publish 20 novels, 530 short stories, 500 poems, and 30 essays. Most of the novels were set in Prince Edward Island.

This was a great listen, even at my age of 61. I particularly enjoyed the narration and oddly I think I enjoyed it more than I would have if a Canadian read it - maybe something about a British voice, I guess. I’m sure I’ll listen again.
I did find some of her pronunciations curious and I never really got over CharLOTTE Town. This was only marginally distracting. The editing became a little sloppy in the latter books. I do wish that “Anne of Windy Poplars” and “Anne of Ingleside” were included.
