Publisher's Summary

They’ll do anything to get out. She’ll do anything to keep them in.

When happily married Grace comes home early one night and catches her husband, Dominic, with another woman in the cabin at the bottom of their garden, she is shocked, angry, and most of all, hell-bent on revenge. That’s why she acts quickly, locking the pair in the cabin while she decides what she wants to do to them.

While Dominic and his mistress desperately try to get free, Grace makes a plan on the outside, but it’s a plan that is formed based on her previous experiences. That’s because this might not be the first time Grace has done something like this....

Who is the real villain? The cheating husband? Or the vengeful wife?

The new psychological thriller from the best-selling author of The Intruder, Til Death Do Us Part, and We Used to Live Here.

Contrived plot, unrealistic characters

It’s an OK book if there is nothing else at hand and you are locked in an inescapable room.

Decent

One wonders what led Daniel Hurst to develop this serviceable Suspense-Thriller (it's a strikingly unique plot populated by characters with mindblowing psychopathology)..
Did the guy have a fever dream or something? It's weird.
Enjoying the book also takes a significant amount of suspension of disbelief (it's a pretty ludicrous premise overall), but if you can manage it, the book provides "more than satisfactory" WTF entertainment. Yes, his vocabulary/prose is pretty limited, but Hurst also provides stilted yet realistic dialogue and sufficiently vivid description to tell the tale. This story about truly unlikable people doing truly insupportable things is undeniably fun.

The reading performances from Matt Bates and Eilidh Beaton are similarly imperfect but praiseworthy. Both demonstrate impeccable diction, cadence, pacing, and voice-acting - the most notable deficiency being a grating interpretation of the 10-year-old version of 'Grace' by Beaton.

Altogether, 'The Couple In The Cabin' merits 6 stars out of 10. As a 'Plus' selection, it's definitely worth a download, but better options beckon should they ask for a Credit.

I enjoyed listening to this story!

After reading some of the reviews about this book, I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it but I did. It is well paced and the characters are believable and I didn’t expect the ending. It was a very interesting book and I couldn’t put it down,
