Publisher's Summary
I'm young to have so many enemies. The Skinners, Dark Walkers, Wood Mist, they all want me for their own reasons. But those were enemies I could fight. Now the disease that changed me forever is back. It's reaping death and havoc everywhere it strikes and I'm nearly helpless to stop it except for one chance. There's a rumor of a cure. But Dax, my ally here in the Wilds, has vengeance on his mind. As I prepare to fight the Bloody Death by any means I can, I might have to leave behind the only man who has ever stood beside me.

Disappointing
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
If you have time to kill this book is a decent way to spend it if you can get past the narrator. Donna Augustine has good story lines that can easily pull you in.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Dead?
When the illness first hit and her friends started getting sick was a pivotal point in the story.
Would you be willing to try another one of Angel Clark’s performances?
I will make a point to steer away from any books Ms Clark narrates . I listened ( again ) to the previous books before I listened to this one and by the time I got into The Dead, Ms Clark's interpretation of Dal was like finger nails o a blackboard. Whine. Whine, WHine, WHINE!!! She was fine with the other characters but not Dal. Ruined the books for me. Ms Clark, not all 18 year olds whine and it didn't make Dal sound young, it made me wonder why anyone could stand being around her.
Could you see The Dead being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
No I can't see it being made into a movie. The story is too fussy and the characters did not elicit any sympathy from me the listener. I wonder if a different narrator would result in a different answer.....
Any additional comments?
I doubt I'll get the last book in the series. I have a low tolerance for whining.

When sequels get it right
What did you like about this audiobook?
The dead is an amazing continuation of the series. I was a little worried it may not be as good as the first two installments . . but the story keeps getting better. It is def so far one of my favorites!
How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?
A single memorable moment is very hard to choose and I do not want to spoil the plot . . but Dax and Dal are very awesome
Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?
I think the first scene at the bar was my fav! The character has grown very fast, in a way. Which often makes sense when a lot happens to you at once.
What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?
I did not find anything wrong with the narrator. As a matter of fact she remained consistent through all three of the books so far and I definitely enjoyed that sense of uninterrupted continuity.
