I really enjoyed this low octane but addictive suspense thriller. I like the element of surprise as the story unfolds, and the way the clues are gradually revealed. Character development is outstanding. The author creates a dark sense of foreboding that lurks just beneath the surface, which the reader glimpses only briefly, just enough to keep us glued to the edges of our seats. Danielle Valentine is an accomplished unpretentious writer who knows her craft. Lauryn Allman's narration enhances the listening experience. Each character's voice is unique but she achieves it naturally, without irritating linguistic gymnastics. Highly recommend.
