Without spoiling anything, I like that the author chose to make the detective relateable in his misery of past events... not a detective before human, if that makes sense.

this is the third book I have listened to by this author. I love the twists and turns he creates. the descriptive and engaging writing is exceptional. always a surprise lingering in the text.

While I can’t give a 5 to this book. I found it interesting and a good plot. Relevant characters were good and the narration of all was very beautifully done.
It kept my interest and I was very happy with the conclusion and how well the book wrapped up.

What a brilliant conclusion to a fabulous series. I enjoyed every minute. And as someone who lives in the landscape where it's set, I love how accurately winter in the region is depicted. I very much enjoyed all four books. Thanks for the freebies Audible Plus! If it hadn't been a freebie, I likely would have never come across this author. Now I will be looking for him.
