Just as Good Now as it Was Then....

Absolutely adored this book!! I'm a big fan of anything paranormal, and have existing pre-conceived notions and certain expectations pertaining to the Warren's (as dermatologists) and some of their more infamous investigations (I.e. Annabelle, Enfield Poltergeist, Amityville House, etc.). 👻 The book also covers other hauntings which the Warren's dealt with that are not so well-known - in fact, some I have NEVER heard of and I'm a fan of the Warren's, their spirituality, persistence and mental/emotional strength, and of course - I'm a HUGE fan of their investigative work. I could NOT stop listening and couldn't put this one down!! I was actually VERY saddened when the book was over....😢 The narrator also did a fantastic job imitating Ed and Lorraine Warren, along with ALL the other character voices! 👍 I'm sooo glad I was FINALLY able to find a good book all about the paranormal!!! 👌

Nothing here

According to Ed Warren (as the book states), many people believe in the paranormal but not necessarily demons.
I'm one of those people.

For me, the paranormal and religion don't mix. To be quite honest, I do believe that there are definitely things in this universe which we cannot understand with out finite senses and intelligence.

Humans cannot possibly claim to know everything, let alone explain everything away with the Christian religion...which brings me to the next point:

The author (and quite possibly the Warrens also) seem to believe that any believer in the paranormal is necessarily religious. That's a quite narrow-minded view of the world.

I'm a secular person (agnostic and non-religious). Yet I do believe in the paranormal. Not the paranormal that is mentioned in the Koran, the Old Testament and the Bible, not the paranormal that superstitious people tell each other which has humanoid features plus horns, no. I believe in phenomena that have not yet been explained by human intelligence.

Religion in its essence is an unintelligent endeavour and it seeks to maintain the people as fearful and obedient.

Sorry about the long-windedness. In short, I sound this book to be an insult to the paranormal and all the believers in it.

Spellbinding and Captivating documentation

loved it, the most accurate and descriptive examples of traditional paranormal investigations I have encountered. The only thing that brings the listener comfort is knowing that there are people who devote themselves to understanding and helping those who are at a check mate for the unexplained.
