About this listen
Available in audio first, a dreamy new romantic comedy from number one New York Times best-selling author Lauren Blakely!
Just my luck - my new next door neighbor is a unicorn.
Yep, the British hottie is clearly a mythical man because - get this - he's a sexy, witty, charming, big-hearted single dad.
Who, wait for it, wants to find Mrs. Right and get hitched.
He’s a once-in-a-blue-moon kind of man, and it’s a darn shame I’m not on the market. If I were, his accent alone would melt me. Add in the fact that he's a veterinarian, and my animal-loving heart would be flip flopping.
But my heart's on the mend. I'm a single parent like him, and raising my teenage daughter is my top priority. Plus, falling for a guy who shares your property line is a line you shouldn’t cross.
Still, I'm an outgoing gal, so I do the neighborly thing and offer to be his dating insider.
Surely, I can help this small town’s most eligible bachelor ever navigate his way through all the fantastic single ladies eager to make his acquaintance.
What could possibly go wrong in helping the dream guy next door find his one true love?
So I set him up on one date, two dates, three dates — and I’m about to find out exactly how dangerous my offer is.

An actual adult romance, filled with humour and communication
I truly enjoyed the "older" couple, both in their thirties. And! They had communication skills. A girl boss that's not afraid to love what she loves. A guy willing to admit when he needs help and showcase his geek side.

An okay listen
Truth time - I grabbed this e-audiobook from Audible.ca because it was free, and I wanted an easy listen, but I didn't realize it was part of a series. Not that I think that was a major factor in this being just an okay listen.
It's an easy-going romance between two single parents. I liked the relationships Liam and his son had and January's relationship with her 15-year-old daughter Wednesday. Their bond and banter were solid and were my favourite parts of the book. Yeah, doesn't bode well for the romance in this Romance, eh?
The two main characters - Liam and January - were likeable. I love that Liam falls first and how strong and independent January is, but the romance between the two neighbours felt rushed so I didn't find the chemistry believable.
This book is light and despite having some issues for the couple to work through, this low spiced story has very little angst, so it was hard to keep engaged. This was a decent, okay listen but I won't be picking up the other books in this series.

An Amazing Single Parents Next Door Neighbor Love
Liam, a charming single father with an English accent, has recently relocated from New York to start a new life. He moves in next door to January, a strong, independent woman and single parent in her own right. As they begin to interact more frequently, their bond deepens, and what begins as a casual neighborly connection evolves into a beautiful and unexpected love story.
January is a woman of many talents, especially in the realm of repairs. Whether it’s fixing broken appliances or mending fences, she’s the go-to person in the neighborhood. When the two first meet, she’s dressed in overalls with a hammer securely fastened to her belt—a practical and no-nonsense look that reflects her determined personality. Though January tries to play matchmaker by helping Liam find a partner, it becomes clear that Liam has no interest in anyone other than her.
The story of Liam and January is a delightful journey of love, discovery, and personal growth. Their chemistry is palpable, making their connection feel natural and heartfelt. The narrative is not just about romance; it also highlights the struggles and joys of being a single parent and the complexities of starting over in a new environment.
One of the standout features of this book is the audio performance. The narration is exceptional, particularly the portrayal of Liam. His voice, rich with emotion and warmth, adds an extra layer of depth to the story. It’s impossible not to be swept up in his charm as he expresses his longing and affection for January. The overall audio quality is superb, making it an enjoyable experience that enhances the emotional impact of the book.
In conclusion, Building a New Beginning is a captivating romance that will tug at your heartstrings. It’s an engaging tale of two people finding love when they least expect it, and the audio version is a must-listen. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a heartwarming, well-narrated love story with relatable characters and a beautiful setting.

Cute and quick
Cute little story. Performances were pretty good. The only problem I had was with the attempt at the kids using modern slang…it was bizarre.

Not for people with no kids
The book was alright but for me I discovered I don’t like romance books when kids are involved.
