Good story, character development, pace and a proper conclusion (not rushed). Narrator did a wonderful job and her voice embodied the characters well. There was great chemistry, longing, and tease between the main characters that could do without the steamy bits. Some of the supporting characters are lovable as well as their relationships with the main characters too. There were funny moments and some that tugged on your heart.

I laughed, cried, cried, and laughed some more while listening to this one! Of course the performance by Mary Jane Wells was perfection as always, but the story itself is compelling and richly detailed. The characters have depth, and their imperfections touch on very relatable issues people deal with even today. Anthony truly was a man already undone, Joanna Lowell created a character that was troubled, endearing, and romantic - all while he had to figure himself out to win over Lucy and protect his title. I love a good, strong female character, but also someone that has realistic doubts and faults of her own. This novel has rocketed up to my top-five ever. As soon as it was finished I wanted to start it and listen all over again!!
