No one should listen to abridged version
Books are not meant to be read in the abridged version. Too much of the story is lost. If I hadn't already read the book, I wouldn't have known much about the characters. I just couldn't find the unabridged version.

What the?!
I'm disappointed to see that this book isn't available in an unabridged version after listening to the unabridged First King of Shannara and unabridged Sword of Shannara. Especially when it picks back up after this book with an unabridged Wishsong of Shannara. Seems like somebody dropped the ball on this one.

Get the unabridged version...
Not a bad reading, but much is lost in the telling with this abridgement of the story. Get the unabridged version!

THIS IS THE ABRIDGED VERSION
Would you try another book from Terry Brooks and/or Charles Keating?
Yes
Would you recommend The Elfstones of Shannara to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes - the story itself is great, just make sure you get the unabridged version especially if you are trying to read it in conjunction with utilizing the audiobook.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Elfstones of Shannara?
None of them - I wanted to read the whole book and downloaded the abridged version by mistake.

Abridged books are lame
I've read the much of the series and wanted to refresh the whole series before reading the latest books, and I failed realize that this book is actually an Abridged version before purchasing. Call me old fashioned, but I love the details, especially when I don't have the time to sit down to read the whole book!
Please clearly note this book as an ABRIDGED version!

Abridged disappointment
For some reason this extremely short abridged version is all that Audible has available. Keating is great but this is just too short. Audible needs to get the unabridged version available again.

ABRIDGED VERSION
I enjoyed listening to this book, but was surprised when it finished so quickly. I was very disappointed to discover that this is an abridged version and not the full novel. after looking, I seems that the unabridged version with Scott Brick is not available through audible.

great story, not a fan of the narrator
some of the voices the narrator uses are rather obnoxious, and I am not a fan of his reading style. could just be that I got used to the narrator for the first one though.
