Publisher's Summary
"The Emperor's Sword is a wildly entertaining adventure of overlapping worlds and titanic clashes between fundamentals of good and evil. Klavan's world-building is both amazing and all too plausible." - Joseph Finder, New York Times bestselling author of Paranoia and House on Fire
"Part swashbuckler, part fantasy, part Romance (in the old sense), part comedy, and part acidulous commentary on The Way We Live Now, The Emperor’s Sword brings Andrew Klavan’s trilogy to a resounding conclusion. I guarantee this: you won’t be bored." - John Wilson, aka “The Man Who Reads Books”
Having survived the Nightmare Feast, Austin Lively is living the dream. He has returned to Hollywood and his movie career is in full swing. His new script, Another Kingdom, has been unexpectedly purchased by a top producer at an enormous price. Beautiful women flock to his bed, movie stars court his attention, and the powers-that-be are predicting stardom. His only problems: a recurring vision of a magical landscape he can’t quite remember, and a giant mouse who seems to be following him - a giant mouse with a woman’s face. After his beloved Jane Janeway is accused of murder, Austin begins to realize that this dream he’s living is a nightmare in disguise. He is caught in the coils of a terrible magic, and the only way he can save his soul is to give up his success, re-enter the Eleven Lands, and find the Emperor Anastasius so he can restore Queen Elinda to her throne. But when he arrives at the emperor’s encampment, he is shocked to find Anastasius dead. With a weird hitman on his trail in Los Angeles, he must break Jane out of prison before a murder plot takes her life. In the Eleven Lands, he must follow the Emperor into hell itself where he will face the most shocking revelation of all.

Couldn't stop listening
I binged all three books in a week. I couldn't get enough. Amazing story. Klavan outdid himself and told a tale that will be burned into my head.
Michael Knowles did a great job on the audio. It's rare to hear him like that after listening to his podcast. Great job.

Loved the series
I absolutely loved this series. I thought Michael Knowles as narrator was an excellent choice. The first two books were exciting and made me feel as though I was really in between two worlds. The third definitely brings its own world into the mix. It was almost as if I was seeing parallels between the world we live in and the afterlife. I’m sure there was a deeper meaning that I didn’t fully catch. But it was completely entertaining and I am going to have to listen again. I’m not usually a fan of fantasy books, I’m more of a mystery/thriller listener. But this one pulls in so many genres and undertones of faith that it is a wildly entertaining set of books. Highly recommend!

In. Cred. ible
Michael Knowles was the perfect voice actor to such an outstanding trilogy. I honestly haven’t been so impressed by such a consistent quality series in a while. Fantastic writing and performance. Well done all.

Why did I keep listening?!
These books are bad. I wanted them to be better, but they are just flat-out bad. The author does things like give phenomenally stupid nicknames to certain characters and just keeps going. "Priest of Death" "Butler Assassin" and "Slick" I mean seriously it's like he couldn't think of anything better than to give some characters a Gamertag and just didn't bother to write them any better. The start of this book is so weird. Gone are the vague morals the MC had. Now he just sleeps with beautiful women, but then oh wait now he remembers that a thing happened. All of a sudden now he's proposing to this girl he's never actually gone on a date with and she said "yes" she'll marry him even though she's in jail. The women in his books are just "Mary Sue"'s who serve to show that the protagonist has someone to fight for. I was genuinely shocked to find out that the author is married, I hope his wife hasn't read his books. Look there are a million better series so if you're wondering if you should pull the trigger and check this series out, I would say only do that if you are unable to find a single other book series that might capture your interest. There are so many better options. The writing is predictable, the author just says the most obvious thing he can to move the story along. The narrator is awful, there's a reason he's known for his podcast and hanging out with Ben Shapiro and not for doing audiobook narration. The story is weird and uneven and in the final book, he randomly introduces demons as if that somehow made any sense. Trust me, this is better left alone.

Amazing Conclusion
Andrew Klavan is so brilliant at drawing the reader into the crazy worlds and virtuous characters of this series. I especially love the narrator's fantastic ability to adapt his voice to fit so many good and evil people.
I urge everyone who wants to escape for a break from life's troubles and woes, Read this series!!!

Excellently performed, captivating, incredibly original
Beautiful, compelling, very original take on fantasy. Klavan is a excellent writer and Knowles is a surprisingly dynamic narrator.

Amazing finish!
A wonderful conclusion to the trilogy. The biblical allegory of new creation and the death to the self is wonderfully and terrifyingly written in a way that swells the emotions of those who have felt the despair and joy. This is great for the modern reader craving something similar to CS Lewis’ “That Hideous Strength”. The social commentary is palpable. It’s wild to think of a spiritual battle as a social commentary. The connections drawn are done well with dialogue and character development.

A truer story is hardly told
I believe this allegory points to a place- not so far away and not so well hidden. It point to a battle that rages on. Those who have seen it must continue to fight with whatever weapons they are given. And would do well to remember … despair is an illusion, the victory is already ours.

Loved
Loved the writing. Spiritual warfare synonymous with earthly living with bits of every day humor. I appreciate Klavans injections of humor with his choice of words.
