About this listen

New York Times Bestseller

Erin Sterling casts a delightful spell with a spine-tingling romance full of wishes, witches, and hexes gone wrong.

“A delightful and witty take on witchy mayhem.” — Popsugar

Nine years ago, Vivienne Jones nursed her broken heart like any young witch would: vodka, weepy music, bubble baths…and a curse on the horrible boyfriend. Sure, Vivi knows she shouldn’t use her magic this way, but with only an “orchard hayride” scented candle on hand, she isn’t worried it will cause him anything more than a bad hair day or two.

That is until Rhys Penhallow, descendent of the town’s ancestors, breaker of hearts, and annoyingly just as gorgeous as he always was, returns to Graves Glen, Georgia. What should be a quick trip to recharge the town’s ley lines and make an appearance at the annual fall festival turns disastrously wrong. With one calamity after another striking Rhys, Vivi realizes her silly little Ex Hex may not have been so harmless after all.

Suddenly, Graves Glen is under attack from murderous wind-up toys, a pissed off ghost, and a talking cat with some interesting things to say. Vivi and Rhys have to ignore their off the charts chemistry to work together to save the town and find a way to break the break-up curse before it’s too late.

  • A great read for spooky-season nights
  • A perfect addition to any Halloween reading list

The narrator was a combination of Jennifer Coolidge and Freddie Highmore in the Good Doctor. Ruined the entire story for me. It’s also meant to be in a UK setting with a Welsh MMC and the author has an American accent throughout the entire story. Not a good choice at all.

Cute story. Terrible narration.

The story itself was okay but when you write a novel describing the male lead has having a super hot Welsh accent you should have a narrator that can do one! Some novels I brought up by fantastic narration … sadly this one was brought down.

Disappointing Narration

I really liked this one! I thought the second chance romance was well done with the "why" that they came back together. The mixture of romance and fantasy was really well done here to make it into a cozy romance novel rather than something full of high fantasy.

It was a really quick read and I definitely recommend it!

Definitely Recommend!

This is definitely a good fall read, puts your in the fall/Halloween mood as it’s set around Halloween and references a lot of magic. The story I felt was fast, predictable but entertaining. The characters were likeable, however as an audiobook, I found myself drifting off from time to time and had to concentrate to focus back on the story. I think as a paper copy it may have held me more. This book was highly recommended on a lot of booktok’s as a top fall read.
Is a good quick one!

Simple story. Not enough detail or follow up of characters. Narration was annoyingly childish and rushed. No range in speaking or accents.

Simple storyline, disappointing narration
