About this listen

An addictive psychological thriller packed with twists

Every family has secrets. The Dorseys bury theirs.

Sabrina Adams thought her luck had finally turned around when she was hired as a librarian for the wealthy Dorsey family. But as soon as she arrives at their elegant estate, she senses something is off. They have cameras everywhere. She’s banned from the third floor, and she spotted someone watching the house from the nearby woods. And why does the housekeeper, Mrs Manning, insist on so many rules?

Then police officers arrive at the door with questions about the disappearance of a local woman. Sabrina is shocked to learn her charming employer, Theo Dorsey, was the last person to see the missing woman alive. He insists he’s innocent. Despite her growing doubts, Sabrina keeps her head down because she desperately needs this job. But then Theo is linked to another woman’s death several years before. And after finding out no one has seen the Dorsey’s previous librarian in years, she has to ask herself... Who can I trust in this family? And will I be next?

A gripping and utterly compulsive psychological thriller that will delight fans of Verity, The Housemaid and anything by Lisa Jewell.

The last part of the ending was so unnecessary. Didn't enjoy the narrator either. The story jumped the shark in the end for no reason at all. It added nothing to the plot.

This could have been a 4star

The narrator for this story did an excellent job. I think the author is a talented writer that kept me wanting to read more … until the ending, which for me was a huge disappointment. I’m sure others may like it, but unfortunately for me it was just too far-fetched, far too long and then on top of that, there was another ending, which I felt was unnecessary and misplaced. It added nothing of value to the story. Unfortunately, both endings ruined the whole book for me. However, I wouldn’t want to dissuade others from reading it because I’m sure there are those that would like it.

Performance was great! Ending … not so much!

Repeated a lot, gave a lot of unnecessary detail. Narrator just didn’t do it for me either. I’m struggling to finish.

Not for me
