Story
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. A former Delta Force commander, Brad Taylor proves with this breathtaking debut thriller that Vince Flynn and Brad Thor have company. A collection of top operatives, the Taskforce was commissioned by the highest levels of government, kept secret from the media and even Congress. The best of the Taskforce bunch, Pike Logan knows the greatest threat to American security is one or two idealogues. Unfortunately for them, they’ve just crossed Pike’s path.

Can see why Jack Carr’s character reads Brad Thor
Going from Harrison Ford movies to the Tom Clancy audiobooks, I expanded into their genre, and, after being taken in by Jack Carr, even before the Amazon prime series, I was struck by jack cars dedication of one of his books to Brad Thor, and can understand why he wrote one of his characters in reading Brad Thor novels. Different tones, different themes, and teams, but amazing attention grabbing fiction. Will certainly continue to burn through the Brad Thor books seeking the mind, consuming diversion for an ADD brain, these books are good at grabbing your attention and keeping it. I have to say thank you to Jack Carr for turning me onto Brad Thor.

Consistent and great.
narrator as always is great and the book plays flawlessly.
the story was probably my favorite if the harvath series. extremely frustrating as it seems harvath cannot get ahead and the twists in the back half of the book are great. totally recommend this book and all other harvath books before it.

Better Brad Thor listen
With failing eye sight, the audio is the answer and this book is an easy, pleasurable entertainment. Enjoyed the narration, the pace and better continuity than some of his work. Plot is entertaining while unrealistic . . . but then this is fiction. No regret about downloading this one!

The First Commandment - wow... WOW
Any additional comments?
Brad Thor has taken his creative writing craft to a new level. He certainly stands out with the likes of Vince Flynn and David Baldacci for creating an edge of the chair novel that is guaranteed to grab you and never let you go. George Guidall provides a terrific narration. I have enjoyed all of Brad Thor's novels to date, but First Commandment is definitely a stand out.

Great listen
Would you consider the audio edition of The First Commandment to be better than the print version?
Big fan of Brad Thor. This book no different than the others. Fast moving, good story, great naration.
Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. Another great job.

I'm liking them better as time goes on.
I didn't take to Scot in the first book, but the story was entertaining and I gave things a shot. Kept coming back, and I'm enjoying the books a bit more as time goes on. This one felt more like two jammed together tangents than a single coherent book, but still entertaining.

Good Story Line
If you could sum up The First Commandment in three words, what would they be?
Entertaining; satisfaction;
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Seemed like everybody was out to stop Scot, and the way he was able to continue to move about to complete his personal mission without support from the person who owed his life to
Which scene was your favorite?
When the off duty cop acted on a hunch and stopped the bombing of the bar
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Knowing that our government acts pretty much the way the book laid it out if they want you out of the way
Any additional comments?
Needs to focus on the garbage happening within the current administration as there's plenty of storylines he can continue the series with

Great action
This book is non-stop action with a good plot. Vince Flynn readers will enjoy it. A rogue agent trying to take out the bad guys anyway he can. How can you beat that?

Standard fair, good brain candy
Where does The First Commandment rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Its just a good fun time. It isn't serious literature, but a good spy novel.
What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Seriously, George Guidall could read the phone book and I would listen to it. The guys voice is gold!
