Publisher's Summary
Dear Holden, I'm not going to college a virgin. I want to learn everything and I want you to teach me.
I have to ask: Will you be my first?
Yes, there are risks. I'm your best friend's kid sister. As off limits as it gets.
But forbidden fruit is always the sweetest.
And I'll do anything for a taste.
-Daisy

The First Taste Melts Your Ears
The First Taste is a brothers best friend romance told in dual pov enraptured in forbidden fruit. A angsty lovestory between a tattoo artist and a book warm. The characters are well fleshed out and given depth to their characteristics. The writing style is balanced. This author tackles topics that are not easy to discuss and handles them with care. Its written in a way that could be someone's real life. A entertaining journey to a lovestory.
Narators Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross duet naration performance hit the chemistry out of the park. These two are a perfect pair. Everything is insync and flows smoothly and consistently. Kai's sweet inflection fits Daisy's personality perfectly. Wen Ross exhuberates confidence and experience with his inflection of Holden. A entertaining experience.

So much more than a friends to lovers romance
I'm a devoted Crystal reader and follower and this book was another reminder as to why.
Crystal digs deep into her characters, they aren't just surface level pretty and that's where they stay. Nope she makes them real, she gives them depth, struggles, pain and even loss. I really felt like she shined with Daisy and Holden.
Anybody who knows me at all knows I am at an age where stories with a V aren't my thing BUT I knew what I was getting into here and I enjoyed this book because of how well it was written.
Crystal addresses heavy topics and does it with grace and tact, she finds that balance between heavy and light and really nails it. I can see that things have the potential to get heavier with Oliver and Luna's future story (and dare I hope something is coming for Oliver & Daisy's dad) and I'm excited to see how Crystal addresses those topics while also giving us that sweet and satisfying romance we've come to expect from her.

Fun friends to lovers
Daisy has been in love with her brother's best friend, Holden, for quite some time. Holden has always seen Daisy as a little sister. That is until her 18th birthday when she decides she wants more than a friendship. Daisy and Holden are a cute couple and because they had an open and established friendship, it was cute and fun to watch their relationship become so much more.
This was the first time I've heard Kai and Wen narrate and will definitely not be the last. I absolutely loved the duet narration and with these two it made for some pretty steamy interactions.

Brothers best friend romance with a twist
I enjoyed this story. I liked that it was done in dual narration and love the combination of Wen and Kai. Holden is the typical player that hides his attraction to Daisy because she is his best friend’s little sister. Daisy is not hiding anything about her attraction to Holden. A birthday trip is what bring everything to the forefront.
I would have liked to have a little less introspection from the character (as others have said as well) but overall, I enjoyed the story and would recommend this book!

A Cute Story!
I give these narrators 5+++++*. I love listening to these two tell a story.
I give the storyline:
3.5*
This was a cute and steamy Brother's Best Friend romance.
Daisy has had a crush on Holden for years. Going to celebrate her 18th birthday she invites him, hoping to get the courage to ask him to take her virginity before she sets off to college. Holden is a notorious playboy and just started to see Daisy as a women and tries fighting his attraction to her because her brother said she was off limits. I liked it, but a majority of this story was all inner monologues of what they wanted but both were afraid to say. Daisy is this innocent heroine so her being afraid to voice what she wants from Holden this guy she knows is a playboy is understandable, but I feel that for Holden he should of stepped up. I will check out the other books and can't wait for Daisy's brother and best friend 's story.
