Publisher's Summary
The five love languages work for everyone (they're not just for married couples)....
In this world we’re surrounded by more people than ever - yet we often still feel alone. Being single or married has nothing to do with whether you need to feel loved! Everyone has a God-given yearning for complete and unconditional love in the context of all relationships. If you want to give and receive love most effectively, you’ve got to learn to speak the right love language.
Different people with different personalities express love in different ways. In fact, there are five very specific languages of love: Words of affirmation, gifts, acts of service, quality time, and physical touch. Dr. Gary Chapman’s original best seller was first crafted with married couples in mind, but the love languages have proven themselves to be universal. The message of this audiobook is now tailored to meet the unique and real desires of single adults.

Very insightful!
So I read the reviews on this book before I listened to it, and there was one quite negative review that said it was offensive. This made me want to listen to the book to see why they would say that about a book on learning the languages of love.
Well I now understand, if you read this book just know like it states in the add it is a religious/Christian book, so the views and sentiments are set in the perspective of heterosexual relationships. So if you choose to read this book, knowing it is a religious based book, don’t be offended if you don’t agree with the sentiments. You choose to read the book knowing it would have that biases seeing as it is a by a religious author, with biblical viewpoints in it. They don’t hide that fact!
Having said that this was a good tool to help you see that there are 5 different ways people express love, and that knowing that and how to tell the difference has helped a lot.
Hope you find this helpful.

Solid Relationship Advice
I am a physician trained in counselling/therapy and a believing Christian (albeit one questioning of organized religion somewhat). Relationships are far more complex than this book would suggest (or ones discussing the Mars/Venus paradigm, compatible personality types, the seven goals of marriage, or the strict scriptural interpretation of what marriage actually *is* for that matter), but Gary Chapman has done a marvelous job breaking down major patterns for receiving/giving love into Five Major "Languages": Words of Affirmation, Gifts, Acts Of Service, Quality Time, and Physical Touch. Chapman also wisely discusses the "tingles" of initial attraction and the first two years of euphoric ("blind") love that blesses new relationships. In this book, he explains how his concepts are thus much more important as relationships mature - but the 'Love Language' model is valuable for people entering a new relationship, too (particularly recently divorced people). Chapman's vocabulary is broad, he uses examples from counselling sessions to illustrate concepts, and his advice is clear. Perusing the accompanying PDF makes it clear that the author's view is strongly colored by his spiritual beliefs, but the text is valuable for all people involved in an amorous situation (without excluding non-believers, for example). The book isn't preachy.
Chris Fabry does a professional job reading admittedly dry material. His tone and timbre make it clear that he is interested in the text. Oasis Audio made a good decision hiring Fabry for the project.
A paper copy of this book (where you can scribble in the margins) might be superior, and the original book (aimed at married couples) is doubtless better oriented, but if you are considering it, this 'singles edition' is a 7.5/10 audiobook. It's worth the Credit.

String conservative Christian message
I really liked the original but the homophobic language in this version made it a disappointment for me. The concept of the love languages is really helpful but the conservative Christian views expressed throughout the book really ruined it for me.

All but one thing
I love and apply this information in my daily life. It has helped so much. The only problem I have with it, is that as a member of the lgbt community there are parts that don’t seem to fit my lifestyle. I just wish everyone could feel included. It is 2020 after all.

It filled my heart with vulnerability
I fell in love with someone and at this stage in my life, dating has become nonexisting, until i met him. I was upset that things weren't going as i hoped and i focused on blaming him for the shortcomings of us. I began to reflect and chose to understand how something so new so promising can fall apart. yes, relationships don't have a guarantee but this was different for me, for he, for us. i didn't realize how self-centered i was becoming and critical on why i wasn't being loved and i didn't consider that maybe I was pushing it and him away. This book came to me as a hail mary to either see it worth fighting for at 6 months or cut my losses and accept it was just momentary. I read this book and i felt so connected in every love language listed, and it hit me. i was only focusing on my love language and i didn't listen to his or observe his. he was open to discussing his love language and what i did that pushed us away to where we were and now just like that, i switched my thoughts. We seemed to have found our love language that works for us and now hes more vocal since i expressed my love language is positive affirmations and his is affection. This book saved my relationship

Informative, but...
Happy to learn about each love language, but this book focuses a lot on faith/religion, which can be off putting to some.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
I think the way we relate with each person in our life would be greatly improved if we learned and applied the 5 love languages! There is just ONE CHAPTER I DISAGREE WITH and it is on the topic of dating! I recommend 'I kissed dating goodbye' by Joshua Harris or any of Eric and Leslie Ludy's relationship Books instead!! Other than that, GREAT BOOK!!!

Good content, terrible narrator.
This narrator sounds like he's reading the Safety Instructions at an airport the entire time. Book is sound, but not enough new content vs the original to justify the purchase, especially given the emotionless narrator.
