Publisher's Summary

It's Christmastime at Marlow House Bed and Breakfast, and Danielle has a full house. When a woman, stranded far from home, shows up on the doorstep and begs for a room for the night, how can Danielle tell her the inn is full and turn her away?

After all, it's almost Christmas.

The woman makes quite an impression on the other guests, especially when she mysteriously disappears. Is it foul play - or something supernatural?

Loved it!!!

Ok, serious question here. How do you authors find great narrators who can read your stuff without crying their eyes out? I had to turn it off at work because people thought I was nuts!

I have really become quite fond of the residents of Marlow House, and while I was hesitant at first, this has quickly become one of my favorite series.

I was losing faith

This was a great story. A little drawn out, but good none the less. I was losing faith in this series, but I actually enjoyed this one.

probably more like 4.5☆ but I'm feeling generous

SUCH an improvement on the stupid heroines I've been "reading' about in cozy mysteries lately!

Some readers might complain about the mix of paranormal elements into a murder mystery but I find it fun.

This series is just the light-hearted fun side of murder 🤭😆 - the way all cozy mysteries should be; without many of the dumb h gimmicks too many other cozy mystery authors resort to. You won't feel the urge to throw your device against the wall while your hands are elbows deep in sudsy water or covered in a marinade.

And unlike a lot of authors these days, she has good consistency of events from book to book, (I find it SO annoying when authors just feel free to change details of previous books to suit the plot of their current book!).

I enjoyed this story. All except...

I really enjoy this series. I usually stick to crime/suspense/mysteries. The added spirit aspect of these books is interesting and adds to the story. All the books in this series before this one I really liked but by the 4th book I found how "dumb" the police are portrayed to be a bit ridiculous. Asking all the wrong questions, believing far fetched theories but not stuff right in front of their faces. I understand Danielle, Walt, Lily and Ian are the ones to figure out the mystery but why make the cops seem so incompetent. Especially Joe and Bryan. They couldn't come across anymore bigoted. Poor crazy Danielle, Danielle the murderer. Come on. I'll still read these books just thought I'd add how I feel to my review. It doesn't " take away" from the story necessarily. It just annoys me :)
