Publisher's Summary

This audiobook version of The Gift of Failure contains spontaneous added commentary from Dan Bongino, not available in print.

Dan Bongino’s brutally honest, deeply personal, and unforgettable stories about how he transformed failures into victories will enthrall, entertain, and inspire listeners.

In The Gift of Failure, leading conservative commentator Dan Bongino identifies failures in his life and how those failures led to bigger and better things. With the same laser-focused intensity that has made him one of America’s most popular voices, Bongino uncompromisingly cuts to the heart of failure with a collection that is inspirational, motivational, entertaining, touching, and redemptive. The former Secret Service agent currently hosts one of the country’s most listened-to radio programs along with a top-rated podcast and the popular Fox News television show Unfiltered.

Throughout his career, Bongino has helped trailblaze a fight for free speech and free expression, garnering many national headlines for taking on some of the biggest tech companies in the world to challenge their seemingly draconian censorship policies. Along the way, through his many David versus Goliath battles, Bongino has learned the hard way why failure matters.

In The Gift of Failure, he shares, in vivid detail, many of these experiences—from high-profile, front-page stories involving the drama behind Parler and Rumble, to never-before-shared personal tales covering his childhood, the Secret Service, the media, a recent serious health battle, and much more. Bongino’s vulnerability, coupled with his unapologetic honesty and humor, help illuminate many life lessons.

This is unforgettable storytelling as only Bongino can deliver. Whether you agree with him or not, there’s something here for everyone.

inspirational

Dan has always been an inspiration to myself and my Husband. But one thing I had always struggled with, was, letting my failures beat me down. Just the first chapter alone has made me rethink my failure and start to see how I could have used those to my advantage. the added commentary to his narration makes the book very enjoyable just like his pod cast!

Pure Bongino!

Dan is just a great story teller! He had me laughing when he talked about growing up. He had me crying when he talked about Rush and his own battle with cancer. Great, great book!

Don't Get Dead Dan. We need you and your outlook on life. You're long on America attitude. Loved listening to your story in your own voice. Glad I didn't read it but listened instead.

So Relatable

I appreciate his candor and transparency in his book. In a world where the values of integrity, kindness, grit, respect, and basic humanity it’s refreshing to know that there are real people fighting to keep the foundation from crumbling. I fail every single day in some fashion. Thank you for encouraging me to reach for a better tomorrow and a better me.

Great Stories, tough to understand them...

All his stories are great and are definitely relatable.
I'm a regular listener to his podcast and have learned that usually when his voice lowers and becomes difficult to hear it's usually because he's going off on a tangent or it's a somber moment or he's expressing appreciation to his audience I just ignore it and wait for him to speak up again. In his audiobook however his voice lowered quite often and I was unable to follow along so a fair bit of the stories remain unfinished.
I listened to this while driving a truck so if one uses earbuds, headphones or in a car you may have a better experience, but you would think after many years in the media this could have been addressed either by technology or using a voice tutor.
Great book.... I think 🤔

Classic Bongino

Dan's audiobooks offer listeners something not found in his podcasts... a non-New York style of speaking. Love the man, his books, and his takes, even when I disagree. I wish I was able to overlook it, but I find myself mocking his style of speaking more than I am listening to what he is saying live and unedited. My own failure.

The only negative from this audiobook is not experienced often on Audible. The audio level is so low in parts, when the author chooses to whisper I have to rewind and strain to listen for what was missed. It happened too often that a few times I just let it play and assumed it wasn't worth while to replay it.

Insight and humbleness.

I enjoyed to listen to Dan and his personal reflections. Many should sit back and re assess themselves.

Great read

Full disclosure, I'm a fan of Dan Bongino. This book was interesting because of its honesty and sincerity. It's an up close and in person look at Dan's life and what helped make him the successful entrepreneur that he is. I really enjoyed it.
